A better business model for the bus system would have been to attempt to primarily rely on fares and advertising and take sparingly from the public treasury... instead I suspect it has been the other way around. The fares are so inexpensive right now at $2 they could have gone another 50% higher and still been affordable. also from what I've read in the comments it's rather difficult to purchase advertising space, why not hire an outside ad agency and pay them on commission?when I've been on a bus it seems the only thing advertised are other government agencies. Public transit agencies are basically government owned business and it's time they started truly attempted to be more self sustaining. Then they wouldn't have to hold a gun to our head via 35% reductions in service and people like the amputee support group wont become dependent on service that is unsustainable. If she does not fight it, he could end up with the driveway due to adverse possession? Not a real estate attorney, just brainstorming why he's being such a jerk.
