The surprise is going to be writing Rose and Bernard back into the show. Honestly, where are they? Are the two of them the new leaders of the extras in the beach shots for the past 5 seasons who didnt time jump with everyone?

/Film : Magnolia Thinks Bloggers Should Chill Out About Let The Right One In's Subtitles

I think this statement is bogus. The PR team at Magnolia certainly doesnt send out press releases with such terrible grammar. "Obviously online tend to get rowdy..." - no subject in this sentence unless online is now a noun "Title came out two weeks ago and general public don’t notice..." - I mean come on that sounds ridiculous, read it out loud. Maybe an intern wrote this and they didnt check it, but a letter with grammar as miserable as this from an international film company just doesnt seem right. Or maybe the guy who did the subtitles wrote this press release.

I have a hard time with any list that doesnt include a Werner Herzog film starring Klaus Kinski (see: Cobra Verde, Aguirre wrath of God, and Fitzcarraldo). Go see what Ebert has to say about those films. I am very happy however that both Die hard, T2, and Groundhog Day are on here.

/Film : Arnold Schwarzenegger Still Reluctant To Appear in Terminator Salvation

I like Arnold's allegiance to his Terminator films and to Cameron. Yeah, he'll probably be in it, but it really isnt a terminator film. The terminator films, especially 1 and 2, are big budget movies with small scale story lines. They focus on a very select group of individuals and thats what makes them so frightening and stressful. When there is 1 terminator chasing only two or three people with the sole purpose to annihilate them, this amazing effect is achieved and it somehow comes across as realistic. The McTerminator is nothing like this, and while im not saying it will be a bad movie (entertaining at least), it isnt really a Terminator so to speak. I think arnold agrees here, he knows its not the same story. Its not about the chase, its not about the sole mission to destroy Sarah or John, which we saw the franchise begin to detach from with T3 in regards to the killing of Connor's generals. Ive always thought that Terminator 2 was one of the most realistic and terrifying films ive ever seen. It was a film so absurd, but was able to successful at completely suspending all disbelief. Cameron made us believe that this was how two terminators would act and subsequently react to changing situations in order to get their job done. They were efficient and they were flawless which, in turn, allowed the film to be as well. I just dont see this with T4, but I still see magic.

ok, so i always seethe buy/rent/skip it and I was wondering if this post is written simply out of /film's good graces or if it has to do with an organic revenue model? Are the buy films promoted because of the production companies and the movie deals through advertised by their respective stores? im not critiquing, im simply a curious /film reader who works in advertising. just wondering either way i always look forward to seeing which "skip it" movies you all select

/Film : Watchmen - What Did You Think?

im a huge watchmen fan, loved the comic book. i wish i could underline comic book. with that said i loved the movie. if i wanted to read the comic, id read the comic. Snyder did a great job with it. It was glossy, it was stylish, the editing outstanding, and THE SOUNDTRACK SOOO GOOD! thats an element i really loved. having sound made it so much more involving. this was my first movie experience at an IMAX and its my new addiction. Seeing and hearing the Transformers trailer was worth the ticket price alone but that nuclear explosion on mars wasnt too shabby either. this movie was great, dont knock it, you can go read the comic if you didnt like it. Remember, just because the masses are seeing the movie and experiencing watchmen in a different way shouldnt taint it for you. Great movie, sick art art direction. veidt, out.

This piece is not that good. first its a ripoff, and second of all its just some crappy penn tool from Illustrator. The background is really flat, actually all the colors are flat, and im having a hard time looking at this piece. I wonder what Jesus, Slimer, and Vigo are going to talk about in the ecto-containment unit?

/Film : Box Office Update: Watchmen Ticking Downward, Now Targeting $57M Weekend & $145M Domestic

Wait, no shit, this is Watchmen. Yes ive read Watchmen, I love Watchmen, but go ask 90% of America if they know what watchmen is and you will get a blank stare. Watchmen might be the greatest comic of all time, but it still does not have the star power of Batman or Spiderman. Ive never even touched one of those comics (rest of the world is with me there), but i still know what those two superheroes are about through the extensive branding their respective companies have done for them over the years. Watchmen is not a brand and it obviously wouldn't make your previously expected weekend numbers. I mean half of the reviews ive read about the movie are from people who have never read the comic. As much as i cant wait to see this movie next week on Imax, The Reader might have more star power than Watchmen at this point.

I think everyone is forgetting that Cameron made T2 and Titantic. If a successful first person scene, with blinking, was filmed in the Diving Bell and The Butterfly then I dont think Cameron's end result is going to disappoint. This movie is going to make my head explode when i finally see it.
