Many other countries have done it with lots of success. A flat income tax with no exemptions would fix a lot of problems with our tax code. I mean right now any family making $50K a year or less don't pay federal income tax. The average income in America is about $50k so there is only a small % of people who pay the current tax. The only way to fix the problem is too secure the borders first. Then work on illegal immigrantion. Make huge fines for companies that hire illegals or house them. Then make it easier to come here legally. I say to come here legally you must pass an English speaking class, background check, show you have housing, and a job waiting for you when you get here. If they can meet those things bring them on. I mean you can't advance in the US without speaking english, background check we got enough crime as it is, housing and job well don't want you living off government we got too much of that going on as well. That works for most people. The fraud and waste in the budget alone would save a lot of money. Congress says that medicare has a 30% fraud so if you figure that should be at least that much fraud throughout the budget you cut the fraud in half you save $500 billion on our budget just cutting half the fraud out. Every public sector employee should be moved to a 401k plan for retirement and not these pensions. Most private sector jobs don't have pension so why should we have to pay for government to live the easy life?
