However, you cannot have the best of both worlds. Every single day bikers want the lane and want cars to go 10 mph behind them when there is oncoming traffic, but if the cars get stuck at a stop light, the bikers can cruise right by the cars and go through the red light if no cross traffic. I obviously didn't see THIS specific situation and cannot possibly know what exactly happened. I hope this woman is ok and she should be in our prayers for a solid recovery, but it is something that all of us (bikers or not) deal with every day - bikers all over the roads that cars and trucks belong on. I'm sure we are all constantly witnessing "near collisions" to/from everywhere we all go each day due to bikes cruising right down the actual road... I'm surprised it's taken this long to see something unfortunate like this happen. It's a fine line between having that certain swagger and letting it go to your head to make a team unprepared for future opponents. But if they can walk that line without overstepping their boundries (like the Florida's, Texas', Alabama's, and USC's of the world all have), what that win in Happy Valley could have done to the psyche of this team can speak volumes for the remaining 2/3 of the season and their success. I believe Ferentz is a phenomenal coach and will keep his team's focus in the right direction. But as they say, you can only lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
