The administrators are afraid of higher political authorities and want to play safe. But in doing so they sacrifice academic advancement and independence. This is the problem when all high posts are political appointments and not based on competency.

Spying and information gathering is part of international relations immaterial whether the countries are enemies or friends. That is probably the reason why we establish embassies and have all sorts of attaches.

Students should just study and memorize what they are taught. Non syllabus knowledge would interfere with their ability to reproduce lecturers' lectures. In computer terms we want to develop storage, printing and display devices. We are not interested in the central processing unit and the soft wares developments. Improved processors will be too fast for our needs. We prefer to stay at least one generation behind than the international state of the art.

Kalau nampak sesuatu kemungkaran, kita mesti cegah. Kalau boleh dengan tangan, atau pun dengan lisan atau pun didalam hati. Didalam hati adalah selemah-lemah iman. Criticizing of wrong doings is encouraged to bring good to the society. Those who remain quite but despise the wrong doings in their hearts are weak in their faith. We don't know where to put those who oppose criticism of the wrong doers.

May be he was quoted out of context. Muslims are forbidden to participate in other religious activities which involve worshipping of idols. They respect the ways of other religions and should not condemn other religions. Festivals like Chinese New year which is not related to religion is acceptable.

It is not easy to change a culture. Politics and business are inter dependent and have become inseparable at all levels of the economic and political developments. No money no talk. No power no go. We are now like the ants or bees. If one happens to be in the workers group, he has to work for life to serve the king and queen who are busy reproducing. The people who have the "Malaysian Dream" are the foreigners who are willing to work hard and pay to survive. Ordinary local law abiding and tax paying citizens will continue to be in the worker race. They will see a lot of "Malaysian Nightmares" if they want to venture and self help themselves.

Kajang is surrounded by educational centres. Many young educators chose Kajang as their place of residence. Geographically it is between KL and Putrajaya and many of the work force from those areas also chose Kajang. So the Malays in Kajang are not really from the bottom of the economic status. They are mostly in the middle and upper class. They may not be severely affected by the rising costs and the hardships related to them. But they understand the reason for the increases and many feel the reasons are not justified. They are concerned about the rampant corruption and leakages that push the prices to go up. Such matters are not discussed in normal kedai kopi but rather in the club houses at the many golf clubs around Kajang. They are not concern about the kangkong prices but about the up market house prices and how the prices have increased uncontrollably.
