Who would've thunk it, that Pro-life would be controversial. Just a few decades ago, it was the other way around.

Don't take my word for it. Look it up! As for their ultimate goal.. I have no idea what the current goal is. I'm just saying that both Margaret Sanger and George Bernard Shaw were eugenists. Among other notable eugenists were Adolph Hitler. However, the facts that are easily obtainable are: that there are an inordinate amount of abortions performed on the black community compared with other races. This has been cause for questions to come up. Whether it's coincidence or not, I don't know.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Feds: Duvall farm rehired illegal immigrants | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Bre

Do you have any other way of expressing yourself than throwing in the term right wing? I agree with you about blame being assigned to companies that choose to exploit cheap labor by hiring illegals, but it's not like these guys were advertising in Mexico, and organizing coyotes to lead them to the promised land. These people came over into this country, knowingly violating our laws. The employers were obviously opportunistic, but if they didn't have the supply of ready and available workers, they wouldn't be hiring illegals. Let's not try to pin all of our anger on the employers.. the common denominator are those that would enter illegally in the first place. Mexico has it right with their laws. If you get caught in that country illegally, you get jail time of 2 years. You get caught a second time, you get ten years. You want to be a citizen of Mexico, you must have a certain amount of cash available, provide your own medical insurance, and you aren't allowed to move anywhere you want in Mexico. They have regional demographic considerations. ie.. they don't want too many of a particular race concentrated in any one area. Look it up.. I did. If we didn't dole out the free goodies so readily, we might not have so much of a problem as we do now. Reagan granted amnesty to 3 million with the understanding that the border would be sealed. Boy did he get bamboozled.

You're absolutely correct with the above statement. She was a Eugenist, just like others like George Bernard Shaw etc. Most people out there don't realize or care enough to see what's going on. Sure they do some good things, but that doesn't outweigh the bad, and only perpetuates the original mission statement. I won't support Komen anymore because they went back with their tail between their legs.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Surveillance video shows no sign of injury on Zimmerman | National & World News | Seattle News, Weat

I cringe every time I see on the news the continuous coverage of this incident. What about all the other crimes that happen. Crimes that are worse in their nature. It must not be news worthy if it's black on white violence. It must not be news worthy if the purveyors of hate and racism Al Sharpton, and Jess Jackson aren't on the scene. It must not be news worthy if the community doesn't rally around, make tee shirts and bumper stickers, and ransack businesses in protest. I am so completely tired of the media putting in a check valve on violence, that only goes one way when it involves a person of color. I don't see the people lining up for the poor 13 year old boy in Kansas City who was doused with gasoline and set on fire by two black kids who screamed "you deserve this white boy!!" No.. apparently this poor kids only fault was that he was white, and it wasn't the reverse, because if it was, well then apparently it would've been a heinous crime worthy of the national news.

I suggest you read the US Constitution. Being a signatory in the UN in no way trumps or is even legally binding to the United States Constitution or the Bill of Rights. We are a sovereign nation, and there is no allowance to use any other third party as a proxy to usurp our founding documents. So my statement still stands. Your thinking that Health Insurance should be a "Right" as expressed in the Bill of Rights, is just fanciful thinking.

Unfortunately most of the countries you listed, aren't doing very well because of it, and other things. The affordable healthcare act was scored at 900+ billion dollars initially, but new estimates put it at 1.8 trillion, and it hasn't even kicked in yet. It's only going to get worse if history is any judge. I think people deserve access to health care.. I just don't believe this behemoth is the right vehicle for it.

KOMO - Seattle, WA : Contract could yield Boeing years of labor peace | Local & Regional | Seattle News, Weather, Sports,

@honkeykat, when you're flying at 41K feet and 500 knots, I'm sure you'll be happy that those who build them don't offer anything critical to society. Now I'm not trying to slam fire fighters or cops, but those are employees of the state, who derive their pay from the taxpayer. Personally I'm a bit weary of all the armchair quarterbacks that feel they are in a position to state their "expert" opinions on it. This isn't a sweet deal. This in my opinion having been an employee for 24 years of Boeing is an effort to squash the NLRB complaint, and to garner support of a relatively new workforce that aren't seasoned with these contracts. This may come across as trying to bring peace between the company and labor, but I think in the near future there will be substantial layoffs. It makes complete business sense to entice a younger group with a bit of cash right before the holidays to secure that vote, before the cull. We haven't seen an employment buildup here since the late 80's, and there is no way we can sustain the numbers we have. There is change incorporation that will soon phase out, as well as some of the flight test, and when production starts running a bit more smoothly on the programs, we'll see a steep decline. I don't want to be a naysayer, but the reality and history back this up. I hate to see anyone lose their job, any job, not just Boeing, especially in this economic downturn. This contract extension vote is unprecedented in our history, especially a year before the contract expires. It doesn't pass the smell test. If they wanted extended labor peace, why not offer up a 15 year contract?
