<description>you can upgrade to any really, i suggest upgrading to 4.1 but if your 3gs is an old bootrom then it should unlock untethered in 4.2.1 i suggest upgrading to 4.2.1 make sure all your blobs are saved on your tiny umbrella and use PwnageTool 4.1 to preserve your baseband.   Theres some good tutorials out there so look em up. </description>

<description>well im not 100% on what SHSH is but i think its like a digital code that apple used to sign for the old firmwares and since they dont do it for old firmwares if you dont have the digital signature then you cant downgrade if your phone doesnt have it saved.  </description>

<description>Try connecting to Itunes (put your phone in DFU Mode again) and try restoring see if that helps, if you get stuck on recovery mode just use tiny to kick it out of recovery </description>

<description>Restore &amp;amp; Update iPhone 3Gs/3G To 4.2.1 On 6.15.00 Baseband ok download Custom 4.2.1 FW: (google it) and then look for the official firmware on google (its an easy find) and then download redsnow 9.6b8  1)Now right click redsnow and run as admin 2)browse for your 4.2.1 firmware (not the custom one) open and follow the steps then DESELECT EVERYTHING 3) Select JUST ENTER PWN DFU Right now click next 4)Follow the instructions on the redsnow (make sure to shut off first if it cant turn off its fine) 5)make sure you hold the home button for a while longer even after redsnow recognizes it. -After its done 6) Open itunes hold shift with your keyboard click restore and select the custom firmware and click ok and it will begin to resotre -Note if your phone is a 3G it will already be hacktivated so you wont have to go to the next steo. 7[for 3gs only])After your done it should be on the lock screen, if your using a 3gs then you need to do an extra step and hacktivate it one mroe time, -this time run redsnow and click the install cydia box and run the program, let it install 8) if its a new boot room then your going to have to load it up with rednsow again, so go to red snow and boot tethered and you should have a working iphone, good luck  Hope this helps guys, if you have more questions ask around see if people can give you more advice.  </description>

<description>ok do thi go to tiny umbrella right and click SAVE SHSH and a list of all the SHSH you have installed on your iphone will appear, if it shows 4.0 4.1 then you can go to itunes (click tss server while u do this) and right click using the 4.1 firmware hope it helps </description>
