WMPoweruser.com : The Dark Force Team playing with Mango?

I would prefer they have the same list style as in the Zune HD, where you tap a letter to jump to items beginning with that letter. They already have it in the media player.

The top bar used for controls needs to go. Bring Zune's ui instead.

And all is well again. I think part of the anger has to do with the fact that Microsoft actually announced their updates, as opposed to folks like Apple keeping mum.

WMPoweruser.com : Another look at the NoDo update

It could be done like the Zune HD's ui, where the text box is hidden and only a transparent bar is visible at the bottom. The bar has the tabs, back button, and search, and you just tap it for the box. http://hjxvzw.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pTocdwYjLI_... http://hjxvzw.blu.livefilestore.com/y1p75NAzxc59r... It should be that way so everytime I want to go to another website or access my tabs, I don't have to keep changing the orientation, especially when watching videos. They at least seem to be headed in that direction with IE9 [Minus the transparency]. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YKC7c-ZLcA I have a beef with ui decisions like this, since I have a Focus. I don't like it how buttons are so far apart that I have to keep shifting the phone in my hand to get to them. http://hjxvzw.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pUC3geAB8ys... http://hjxvzw.blu.livefilestore.com/y1p75NAzxc59r... To adjust the volume on my Zune, all I do is press a button and swipe to my heart's content. Most of the time, I don't even have to look at the screen. http://hjxvzw.blu.livefilestore.com/y1p8saL3F_w2Q... With my Focus, the buttons are positioned all the way at the top of the screen. The Zune implementation was better. Better yet, why not just have the buttons at the side of the device on either side of the screen. Having them at the top doesn't make any sense. My Zune HD's screen may not be big, but I loved how it maintained one-handed-usability and was so easy to use. The biggest mistake with Windows phone could have easily been adding the search and back buttons, compared to how the Zune HD's ui works.

Pretty much. On iOS, there's a magnifying glass to help you actually see what you're selecting. On Windows phone, I can hardly see what I'm trying to select.. My finger's in the way and it doesn't show where you're up to. Come on.. It's incredibly flawed and nigh useless. I just don't like what we have to work with for the time being.

WMPoweruser.com : Microsoft comments on Windows Phone 7 HTC HD2 port

It seems this whole thing is destined to come crashing down. I owned a Dash and Wing, and never bought into the idea that the HD2 was getting an upgrade. When the time came, I had no problem plucking down $220 for my Focus. I can't really understand the situation with these phone owners.

WMPoweruser.com : Introducing Gretchen, our new Zune Editor

The wp7 zune player doesn't have smart dj or hd radio. Also, the ui is slightly different. When playing a video in the wp7 zune player, there's no "scrubbing". Basically, you can't drag to a specific point in the video. You have to hold the ff button until it reaches where you want.

I don't know why people are clamoring over the dell lightning. It's look is fairly generic and not that impressive in my opinion compared to the schubert or Asus phones, which are beautiful.
