Conservative Home : Why we need a Minister for Consumers

Totally again. I'm afraid Ms Sandys talking about business is actually a bit of a laugh considering that she hasn't the first clue about business in the 21st century. I speak as a business owner in her constituency. Her government adding more regulation to the destruction of the High Street whilst employing TV personalities to front up campaigns to save retail. You could't make it up. Just how incompetent are the Tories these days

If we expand Heathrow ( or Gatwick or Stansted for that matter) by how much do we expect to expand the M25 to enable people to get there? We would be better off expanding many regional airports rather than one big one

As an employer I can tell you that our education system is outdated and antiquated . The GCSE system is no longer fit for purpose and was never very relevant once it was decided that a majority of people should got to university. Education has become a results tables exercise based on memorising some key and mostly useless data. The entire curriculum is past its sell by date

What an arrogant load of anti democratic nonsense from this nonentity of a person. The majority of the people are sick of politicians war mongering, if that makes us Little Englander Pygmies, fine, meanwhile Rogers is still a moron.

Iain look on the bright side if UKIP are that poor YOU could stand as a candidate and you might even get chosen. Or is your failure to be picked as a candidate for the Tories after more than half a dozen attempts due to the fact that you're an amateur ?

Platform [OLD] : Joe Baron: The education system is rotten – and the rot starts with the regulators

Like you I was in my youth in the 1960's. Let me tell you what happened in the intervening 50 years. A political revolution and the end of the cold war, a technological revolution, a communication revolution yet we are STILL trying to tout 1960's qualifications as the criteria, can no-one see why this wont work? Can no-one understand that fully 50 years after IT went mainstream it is STILL not taught as a subject in UK schools. Its about time we had a very good overhaul of education to make it 1) Fit for purpose 2) Relevant to the pupils in it

I would disagree Gove is just trying to turn the clock back to a time when GCSE's meant something. Its the 21st century people the whole of our curriculum is not fit for purpose. After 50 years of the IT revolution UK schools have just started to look at teaching real IT skills. No wonder our young people cant get work in an economy crying out for STEM skills

The Tory Diary : Why can't we be told how many members the Conservative Party has?

Peter Theres absolutely no point in having a fantastic sales and marketing strategy if your product is low quality, high priced, the same as the competition and not wanted by the customers. The current Conservative Leadership could have all the worlds greatest strategists but it wont do them the slightest bit of good, Not enough people want the product
