what is the highest firmware that a iphone 4 can have and be unlocked too! if the baseband is an issue. how do you upgrade to that certain baseband to be able to go to that certain firmware to be jailbroken and unlocked. thank you!

Sorry if this has been said in comments before and seem like a pain in the ass. Just want to know if i am on the right track about this all. I have a iphone 3G, in australia (not sure if that makes any difference) i have upgraded to 3.0. And now there are un-official jailbreaks yes? but its better to wait for the official dev ones to come out yes? and i and many others just have to wait till dev comes out with this yes?
