MetsBlog.com : News: Figueroa DFA'd

Omar did admit he regrets that as one of his bigger mistakes but to be honest Flores was a class A catcher at the time. Typically you do not need to protect class A guys becaue few teams can essentially keep the plpayer on their roster. Hopefully Thole can continue to rake and can fill C at CitiField for a long time.

MetsBlog.com : Quote: Murphy is Fine, Focused on Peavy

I believe it is a designed play in that on plays like that he is to get the ball to Reyes quickly and let him actually make the throw home since he has the better arm and can make up for the fact Murph doesn't have the strongest outfield arm.

MetsBlog.com : Health: Pelfrey's Forearm, Now What?

Niese makes the most sense since he would be on schedule and they wouldn't have to scramble to fill a spot in Buffalo tonight on the chance Figgy would be needed on Sunday. Also Figgy I believe signed a minor league contract and would need to pass waivers to go back down while Niese would not.

It better be since they spent almost twice as much. I just hope we get as many articles complaining about the prices at NYS as there have been about Citi Field.

Exactly he has been struggling early this season and still is hitting around 300. Once he gets in one of his grooves the K's will balance out and he will end up aroun 100.

He also has not been the distraction thought he would be and based on his comments is saying the right things and knows his role on the team. If you want Sheffield to be a productive PH than he needs at bats.to get his timing.

You mean the injuries that also come from being a catcher. You are innocent until proven guilty. The only things that have come out are a bunch of hearsey. Until something concrete comes out he is innocent and frankly I don't care either way. So many guys did it and not only in baseball.

I would suspect the Mets have been clear about playing time. He does gives us a power bat off the bench. His arm is shot probably but if you stick him left you can compensate by having Reyes go out a littler farther for the cut off and than you have his rocket arm relying the ball in

Hopefully the weather agrees and we can finally see the Mets in their new digs. Unfortunately it is currently pouring here in WNY and is suppose to rain all day. Would be a nice present to us fans if the weather could avoid moving to NYC.
