I wonder if, at this late date, our olympians will still yet show up in London with brand new "made in America" uniforms, who will foot the bill. It would be typical American style though. Our politicians love to express their unanimous disapproval of things that matter very little in the long run, while still unable to agree on a budget.

I also wonder how stupid stuff like this makes national headlines, while important stuff like financial gurus making public statements about the pending year end "fiscal cliff" barely gets any print.

We could really save resources if everyone would restrict their driving to too and from work only. Hmmm, ....maybe you're on to something! We could make people not recreate at all. Its so dangerous out there. We should all just sit in front of our TVs and computers and be safe. No, wait a minute.... Don't we waste more resources on all the unhealthy couch potatoes who do just that?

Perhaps he'd say, "tell me when you can definitively state that you have found it." Almost only counts in horse shoes and handgrenades.

Still some very cool stuff happening there at the LHC.

So, when having metabolized THC is no longer proof of a crime, what will be the legal standard for "driving impared"? Field sobriety test is fine for PC, but, what're you gonna have when you go to court?

This is a "no-win" so, tax it big to help pay for all the WSP overtime!

Once again, people only hear what they want to hear, and not read and interpret what was simply written. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD IN NO WAY HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHO MARRIES WHO OR WHAT 2 CONSENTING ADULTS DO IN THE BEDROOM (as long as no one gets hurt). Better?

Yeah, I'm sure that addicts will no longer commit crimes to get their fix once drugs are legalized. Makes perfect sense to me. And, the revenue from taxing these drugs will more than cover the expense of regulating the use of these now legalized drugs, just like it does wtth alcohol. After all, our DUI emphasis patrols are cheap at twice the price.

Great! We can't pass a budget, let alone balance one. Yet, we are forever doomed to spend untold millions on trying to control who gets married to whom. What an absolute stupid thing to waste resources on in this day and age.

I'm sick and tired of hearing about stupid non-issues such as this.

"The best answer I can come up with right now is the prevalence of guns," Metz said.

There's a logical fallacy here. Anyone spot it?

In every case, the causal factors are either (1) Illegal activities (gangs, drugs) or (2) mental illness. The problem here isn't the "prevalence of guns". Its the prevalence of crime and the prevalence of mental illness.

We need to decide whether we're gonna try and improve our society, or just attempt to control it. He's right though, there are no easy answers.
