There are many great historical sites in the Alameda and Oakland area but this is one of my favorites. It was last for sale in the late 90's and I got a chance to go to the open house. All I can say is boy is it tiny on the inside!

From Wikipedia - At the turn of the 20th century, the city of Alameda, California took a large portion of Charles Froling’s land to build a street. Froling had planned to build his dream house on the plot of land he received through inheritance. To spite the city and an unsympathetic neighbor, Froling built a house 10 feet (3.0 m) deep, 54 feet (16 m) long and 20 feet (6.1 m) high on the tiny strip of land left to him. The Alameda Spite House is still standing and occupied to this day.

I am definitely going to try to do more freezing. My freezer has always been a no mans land of dehydrated ice cubes, ice packs, random frozen veggies and the occational frozen pesto pizza. If you check out the book you should also check out her blog too. I discovered it after I got the book and there are tons of great recipes on it as well. http://www.101cookbooks.com

This is a great article and a goal of mine too. I'm not quite there yet. Can't seem to give up the canned soup and frozen pizzas which are also my back up quick meals. I have been cooking out of this book, Super Natural Everyday by Heidi Swanson, at least once a week and love it. I also have found the spice section at Cost Plus World Market is a less expensive source for small quantities of "special spices" you may not use all that often. What is the best way to store soup in the freezer? Does it have to be plastic or can you use glass?

I saw Whodini, Run DMC , & LL Cool J at the Oakland Coliseum in 1986.
BEST CONCERT EVER!!!!
