I am on your side, however. I do not believe in God. I am an Objectivist, and as such, an Atheist, and would like these principle to be devoid of religion. But I would like to comment on the other principles.
1. America is good. By this, I take it to mean that America was founded on the principle of the right of the individual being paramount, and the economic system , capitalism derived from this.
2. Already commented on.
3.I do not believe in shades of honesty. One is either honest, or not.
4. The family is indeed sacred, in the secular sence for my beliefs. I find it contradictory though, to claim husband and wife are the ultimate authority, and yet hold principle 2 to be true as well. As Glenn says, " I'm just saying...."
5. What about immoral laws? What about coercive government property grabs? There is a difference between justice and the law.
6. This is what MAKES America good.
7. To believe in this ( which I do!) can cause big problems in #5. If a law is immoral, and you strive to be moral, and have integrity, you will be in some cases compelled to break the law. ( I do don't believe in moral relativism)
8. I is not only not-un-American, it is a moral imperative to speak up against what you believe to be wrong.
9. The only people who don't believe this ---work for the government!
