The 80s ruled! Reagan in the White House, Magnum PI and the Equalizer on tv, Red Dawn in the theaters, and radio played everything from rock to pop to new wave to r&b. Plus, GI Joe!

Hating Overboard would be akin to hating puppies. It's just wrong. :) Another plus in the movie is the always gracious and incredible Roddy MacDowall.

Soldier was awesome. It's very hard for an actor to do drama and comedy well, and Kurt can do both admirably. Man, now I want to see Overboard. :)

Big Hollywood : Shatner's Reinvention Tour Hits Broadway in 2012

Avery Brooks doesn't consider it acting, it's ACTING. I've seen him at a few convention panels and, boy, is he long winded. :) Every little aspect of filming and acting is, to him, incredibly monumental and fundamental. Still, he comes off as a nice guy, but methinks he thinks too highly of the craft. BTW, I have nightmares of being trapped at a panel with him and Edward James Olmos. They can take a single easy question and take 10 minutes to answer it with lots of deep societal, political, and philosophical ramifications of why their character ate muffins as opposed to bagels.

Never dare to dream! Sadly, I don't think they'll find many more episodes in the future. It still blows my mind that the original Dalek story was only a few feet away from being incinerated.

Don't forget that the merchandising from the movie made tons of money. It's probably safe to say that they made far more from the merchandising (action figures and such) than box office receipts.

Big Hollywood : Blacklisted or Ostracized? Tell Me About It

It's heartbreaking to see what's happened to comics over the last few decades. I used to seriously collect and read (and owned a comic/game shop for a decade) but have completely left the hobby due to the junk and leftist-screeds being pushed today. Sorry to hear that you're blacklisted, Mr. Dixon. I'm a big fan of yours and loved your Punisher War Journal. My favorite series of yours was Green Hornet before the copyright owners came an and nixed all your good ideas. What could have been.

What's even more hilarious is that Patrick Stewart is always grubbing for more money. He was at Dragon-Con a few years ago and he was charging TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS per autograph! The average autograph is usually thirty bucks. Who's all about the money?

Big Hollywood : Morning Call Sheet: Streaming News, $490 For 'Law & Order,' and More Goodness From Pixar

Very true...I'll never forget it. When I rented it from a friend's video shop (I had the shop next to his), he tried to talk me out of it. It was about 15-20 minutes into the film when I realized that it was a rip-off of Casablanca. Barb Wire is one of the two movies where I wish I had those 90 minutes of my life that was stolen given back to me. I cannot even begin to tell you people how horrible this movie is. You'd be better off spending 90 minutes picking belly-button lint than watching this turd. Even creepier was that Pamela Anderson was about 6 months pregnant (I think) and she still wore tight fitting corsets and such. Please...stay away. You have been warned!

Big Hollywood : Hollywood's Broke: AMC Network In No-Win Situation

The reason for the change in AMC is Ted Turner. AMC licensed their programming from Ted Turner. Heck, AMC even used to have a host for their movies like Robert Osborn on TCM. Once AMC starting cracking the upper tier, Turner wouldn't renew the deal. Since somebody else built up the demand for classic movies with no commercials (AMC), he essentially took his toys home with him and started TCM.

Red is awesome. I saw the movie twice in the theater (and I only see 3-4 movies a year at the cinema) and I've seen it a few more times since then. Great movie with a great cast. The commentary with the ex-CIA guy was really great to listen to during the movie.

My favorite Branagh film is Much Ado about Nothing. It's the only film where, at the end, if I could have danced through the screen into the movie, i would have. Incredibly funny and the interaction between Branagh and Emma Thompson just sparkle.

Big Hollywood : Morning Call Sheet: Superman, Perry White, Raymond and Bad Movies with the Word 'Green' In the Title

I actually liked it too. I skipped it at the movies, but got it on Netflix. While I thought I would hate the light-hearted tone in the movie, I actually enjoyed it. It was kind of refreshing to get away from the usual grim-out-for-justice archetype for once. While not an A, it was pretty good. I did, however, hate the time slow-down gimmick they had for Kato.
