<description>Companies are indeed another variable. But the concept of verticality and horizontality applied to companies and organizations is a different one, methinks...It conveys a negative meaning (&amp;quot;a vertical company&amp;quot;), whereas &amp;quot;vertical web apps&amp;quot; don&amp;#039;t have that tilt.  </description>
