You can bet that when this strike is over, our Union dues are going to go sky high. They will most likely be doubled and it's going to be rubbed in our faces that they worked HARD to negotiate whatever the outcome of this mess becomes. So far they have secured nothing but the loss of our jobs.
WHEN DID YOU EVER GET TO NEGOTIATE YOUR UNION DUES???
When I hired on with Boeing, I took a huge cut in pay for the better benefits of Boeing. I WORKED through my step raises just like all the people before me had to. For those new hires that don't think they are getting enought out of their new lives at The Boeing Company, I have no sympathy for you. I EXPECT you to pay your dues just like the rest of us had to. If you can't handle money, that's not Boeing's fault. You've never had a job as good as the one you're striking against now or you wouldn't be here. Learn to live within your means and appreciate the gift of the job you have. If you're still unhappy, MOVE ON to what you think is better.
I have very little trust in a Union that thinks nothing of costing me my job. I have brothers and sisters in REAL LIFE who would never ask such a thing of me. I paid this Union to negotiate a better contract on my behalf and it wound up asking me to give up my income. I didn't ask for more money, I asked to have outsourcing of my job stopped, and the continuance of my Medical benefits.
BE SUBSTANTIAL!!!
