Why were you not clear about this at the time of the referendum, what have you learnt in the meantime that's changed your mind?

I'm guessing you probably were clear about the "need" to compromise sovereignty when you voted Remain. It was never you who was unclear, rather all those stupid people who voted Leave.

Why on earth didn't you argue this case before the referendum and vote accordingly?

Immigration is an EXAMPLE!!!!!!

You said you never hear mention of a single measurable improvement. Then I give you an example of one and you suggest an alternative solution. We already have a (partial) solution, it's called Brexit.

To your other ideas, yes these definitely sound worthy of our consideration in order to deal with non-EU immigration. There's no silver bullet.

All of this is only the case if we accept the premise that we must compromise our values, sovereignty, democracy and freedom in the pursuit of economic gain.

But this is precisely what Leavers don't want to do.

If American negotiators are dangling economic benefits in front of British politicians, we want our democracy to reflect your wish that there should be no US involvement in the NHS (assuming yours is majority opinion).

In the referendum the specific issue raised was not the Tampon tax but the issue of immigration. The measurable improvement of controlling immigration should be fairly self explanatory for a country which had a housing crisis before the war, then the Luftwaffe destroyed several million homes, had an even more acute housing crisis after the war and still has one now despite (!) waving in another seven million inhabitants. We also have limited hospital beds, GP surgeries, school places, roads, standing room on the London Underground etc.

Trying to decide whether he was referring to seats in the Commons, support throughout the country etc.

Or your household.

It's a toughy.

"Brexit doesnt add up".

What does this even mean?

MPs implicitly voted for no deal, or at least a strong possibility of one when they voted overwhelmingly for A50. That they rejected the deal then put to them only reinforces my point.

If you succeed in frustrating Brexit do you really believe that will be the end of the matter, that those of us who voted Leave in good faith will simply shut up and accept a new political reality in which your opinion trumps our votes?

Spot on.
