It's a minor league deal -- it will hopefully not result in his terrible fielding and utter inability to reach 1B occurring in NY.

Good. See ya. There are precious few seats to waste on a bandwagoner who prefers a museum to a baseball field. You should try going to the game, sittin in your seat and watching it, rather than roaming around looking for a history lesson.

All you can ask from an owner is a willingness to spend his money and take advice from his "baseball people." The Wilpons spend more money than any other NL owners and more than any other team but the Yankees. It's difficult to fault the owners for the team's lack of success. And "success" is relative. How many other teams were in playoff contention each of the last three years right up until the last day of the season? I promise you the Yankees, Red Sox , Phillies and Angels are not on that list... The difference in the last two seasons was the drop of a ball, one hit, one blown save, etc. How is that the owner's fault?

And if people would spend a few minutes in their seats watching the game, it would not be difficult to figure out who the home team is. It's sickening to see all of those seats behind homeplate empty. There's nothing wrong with the building (except for the unimproved cramped seating in the promenade level). The problem is with the fans who feel they need to find something to complain about at all times.

I dont' recall Shea having tributes to Todd Hundley, Jon Olerud and every other Tom, Dick and Harry to play there. If you can't figure out what team plays in the Stadium (the various Mets Team Stores, memorabilia shops and giant photos on the LF side of the building should be a good hint) then you probably shouldn't have wasted your money showing up to such a mysterious event.

I didn't real feel the absence of any reminders that I was at a Mets game (as if I needed any). Outside of the entrance in leftfield (much of which is viewable from the Whitestone Expwy) there are various large photos from Mets history. More prevalent inside the stadium were Mets Team Stores and memorablia shops. Anyway, I don't think anyone needs to be reminded which team plays in the Stadium.

I agree they should leave Doc's signature but the reactions of Willis, DiBella and the Mets are all a bit overbroad. It's time to worry about more important things.

Are they going to win games because some juice head loses his temper once in a while? You think the Yankees won in the late 90s because O'Neill carried on like a spoiled little leaguer and kicked coolers?

I thought I saw Beltran strike out looking the other day with the game on the line. Would that have changed your mind about him batting 3rd? Anyway, Wright hits for a higher average, gets on base more frequently and has more power. I don't think there's a real argument in support of Beltran batting 3rd in front of Wright.
