Big Government : Althouse: On Sherrod and Taking Things Out of Context

Yeah, it's quite common, particularly when quoting someone from an administration who likes to bury the relevant information deep within a mountain of blather.

Big Government : Breitbart: It’s Not About Shirley Sherrod; It’s About NAACP Attacking Tea Party

More nonsense to distract the public from the real debate. Expect this sort of thing to get more and more play as the elections near, because the liberals in power want to talk about anything but the crappy economy, the debt, the record deficits, the failed stimulus, the trillions in unfunded entitlements, and the expansion of the federal government's powers. Their tactic is to distract and change the debate. Muddy the waters. The libs are experts at this sort of tactic. We can't "out racist" them, and beat them at their own game. Stop trying. Stick to whats relevant.

Big Government : Video Proof: The NAACP Awards Racism–2010

And here we are, wasting time talking about this crap instead of what the Tea Party set out to debate. While we sit here like high school kids, offended at something and reinforcing each other's beliefs that we have it firgured out, nobody debates the debt, the record deficits, and the growth of the federal government. Look at how easily the liberals have distracted everyone from the real issues. Fred

Big Government : I Condemn the NAACP: It Has Lost its Way

They repudiate the "racist elements" in the Tea Party. That's fine. The Tea Partiers also repudiate the racist elements. We also repudiate the racist elements within the NAACP, and they should repudiate them as well. They didn't come out and say that the entire Tea Party movement was racist, and there are bound to be racist elements to a movement that now includes more than 30% of the American public, so they didn't lie. That said, it's a blatant attempt to deflect the debate from what's relevant. The crappy economy, the rising debt, deficit, unsustainable entitlements, and the growth of our federal government. The NAACP is too shallow and dull to address those things. Instead, they issue thoughtless Democratic Party line articles like this: http://unrepentanttepartier.blogspot.com/2010/07/... I don't begrudge them this attempt to latch onto the Tea Party to gain some relevancy. They're a dinosaur, and they need funding. Attacking the Tea Party might get them a few donations. But, ultimately, they're irrelevant. Keep the conversation economy and the debt.
I can add a couple more reasons like the fact that there is still no transparency, so investors are flyuing blind when investing in banks, and second, because the banking functions are still tied to the gambling end, so that, if a gamble fails, the FDIC insured part of the bank goes down with the gamblers. It's just plain stupid.

Big Government : Reading the Tea Leaves on Byrd's Replacement: Senator Coal

I keep hearing that West Virginia is a Republican state, but every time I turn around, they're electing a liberal. I hope the article is right, but I'm not betting on it. You can bet your ass that right now, Obama is on the phone with that Democratic Governor, twisting his arm to appoint someone who's favorable to the Obama agenda, and we know the administration isn't above threats of any kind. We'll see, but I'm notholding my breath.

Big Government : Thanks to Tax Competition, Corporate Tax Rates Continue to Fall in Europe (While Obama Makes America

But...but...Obama's lowering taxes for everyone! Right? Screw Europe. This ia America. I am so freakin' sick of watching what the damn Europeans do. I would love to see taxes lowered, but we're gonna have to make some SERIOUS cuts if we're gonna do that, because we have way too much spending going on right now to expect the economy to grow enough to pay for all of it on top of tax cuts. Something's gotta give.

The NY Times is a freakin' joke. I shredded one of their articles paragraph by paragraph here: http://unrepentanttepartier.blogspot.com/2010/06/... They don't even try any more. At least other liberal papers like the Washington Post at least put up some pretense of being open to other views by featurng authors like Krauthammer. These losers are just so far in the tank for the lefties that it makes then a farce.

Big Government : President Obama Addresses Comprehensive Immigration Reform: Legal or Just Illegal?

Being an immigrant myself (came from Czechoslovakia in '69 after the Russian invasion), I endorse amnesty, but only after the five year waiting period that I and the rest of the "legal" immigrants had to go through. But what I don't endorse is the sheer volume of illegals that will be legalized. One of the things the country needs to do is to control what KIND of immigrants it's letting into the country. These are all laborers. They have no higher education. Are there really that many labor jobs in this country that we need this many laborers? Seems to me that the government is artificially creating labor jobs now in order to keep food on the table of the people with no education. No, we need to ration how many laborers come into the country, and offset that with the doctors and scientists we need who are being squeezed out right now because we can only absorb a certain amount of immigrants at one time. Also, letting in this many Hispanics will change the culture of the nation from a meltingpot to a dual cultural society, half-American and half-Hispanic. That would be a travesty. We need to remain a meltin gpot.

You know what's really pissing me off? Every talking head on the news is proclaiming that her nomination is a done deal. How dare they? Who the hell declared her qualified enough to sit on the SCOTUS? Saying she's qualified to sit on the bench is like saying some shortstop who can turn a double play is qualified to manage in the big leagues without ever managing in the minors. This is absurd. Contact your Senators and Congressmen and demand that they fillibuster her.

I saw Tim Scott on Hannity last week and he looked solid. He's not gonna remind anyone of the Gipper or Obama with his oratory skills, but he certainly seems grounded in fiscal conservativism. Very happy he got the nod. As for Haley, she's just awsome. Very happy with the direction I'm seeing in the elections. I just pray Rubio can beat that loser Crist in Florida. If he does, and Angle beats Reid, we'd have a real nice bloc of fiscal conservatives in high places when you add these guys to Rand Paul, Ron Paul, Michelle Bachmann, Paul Ryan, Christie, McDonald, etc..

Big Government : Hubris and Humility: David Weigel Comes Clean on Washington Post, the D.C. Bubble, & the 'Jou

Hmm, I thought he left the Post because it's a liberal rag that needs to keep up the illusion of being objective, and his e-mails showed a bias. Having knowledge of his e-mails would force the reader to take into consideration what was in them, and that would make every piece he wrote subject to scepticism. It's okay to have a bias, but you have to hide it if you're a journalist, and he didn't. Sounds like he's saying he was betrayed. It's not exactly like Hellen Thomas, but the effect is the same on the reader. Fred

I like Beck, and I love what he uncovers, but I think he underestimates the resolve of conservative peoples. I'm part of two Tea Party groups, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that none of us will sit still and be forced to live under communism or even the pseudo-communism that is the European soialism this administration is selling. Too many of us came from other countries that used those particular forms of government, and we are not about to let the country we ran to become what we escaped. Viva La Tea Party!
