I was shocked and appalled at Melissa Champion's complaint about her food being outdated. As a food bank volunteer for many years, I can assure her that every can is checked for rusting, bulging, and anything else that would compromise the contents. Ms. Champion should understand that all food given from the food bank is donated by generous people for distribution to the needy in times of emergencies. It is not an alternative for grocery shopping!
