Apple's current nano-SIM may be rejected by the European standards body because of one of the requirements of the new SIM. Apple's design basically keeps the exact same contact (pin) structure as with SIM cards and micro SIM cards but cuts away ALL of the plastic surrounding the contact pad. Firstly, this seems like a lazy redesign. Secondly, the reason for the rejection is that the nano sim size allows it to be shoved into an existing SIM slot at a 90 degree angle. They want to avoid that so that existing phones with SIM slots aren't destroyed by careless users.

I'm disappointed to say this, but Apple's design and strategy seems to revolve around encouraging companies with existing SIM patents to abandon claim to those patents if they opt for Apple's nano-SIM design. This might be a bit more palatable if Apple's design was a little more revolutionary than taking a pair of scissors to SIM card that they have already taken a pair of scissors to (micro SIM).

I find it funny that Governor Perry listed skilled work force as the LAST reason for a business coming to Texas, given the other reasons he mentioned.

If the iPad 2 is going to be discontinued, then why hasn't channel inventory dried up yet? When products are replaced, Apple will generally let inventory sell out in the weeks approaching a new product launch.

I think you are assuming too much of consumers (outside of 9to5mac-esque folks). Let me offer my humble opinion as to what the masses think an iPad is:
1. An iPad
2. An iPad 2
3. An Android tablet
4. A Kindle
5. A Windows Tablet (any and all)
6. Anything even moderately representing a slab with a screen 7-10"

Apple cannot screw up the naming outside of naming it something other than iPad (2, HD, SJ, whatever)

What?! I thought that the genius of Apple marketing was speeds and feeds!

Just kidding, LOL.

That doesn't make a lot of sense given that the current Siri product, the iPhone 4S... has an A5.

Why do you guys (9to5mac) keep making link references to that article where you claim to have found indications of a quad core chip? Your readers proved that your assertions in that article were WRONG almost immediately. Yet not a day goes by where I don't read something about the iPad 3 chip with a link to that awful article. Please stop doing this. You're ruining your already thin credibility.

It's a little more expensive, but if you like fidelity, you can do no wrong with a FoxL. V1 or V2 (no bluetooth vs. with bluetooth). Unbelievable audio... http://www.soundmatters.com/foxl/technology.html
