Hey Llynus, Glad you liked Sykur! Anyways, I just checked out all the tracks you mentioned. Turns out I actually have Crank it Up in my iTunes library - picked up Music For An Accelerated Culture a while ago and that's one of the songs I kept from it. Stompbox is a really badass track, and while I'm not too partial to that Late of Pier single (just a personal tendency), the video is definitely very eyegasmic, and trippy in all the right ways :D Thanks for all the recommendations, I appreciate it! Hey Matt,

Thanks! I used a standard definition Sony Handycam from about 2003 to 2007 (Void Deck was the last card video I shot with it), and after that I got a JVC GZ-MG575 which I used to shoot videos like Sick and Twisted Wings of the Mockingbird and Portable Playground with. Then in last August I got a hold of the Canon HV30, which has been my favorite camera by far. You can see it used in the Starburst video.

As for editing, I started out using Windows Movie Maker (Visual Madness and Re-turn of the Kings), then moved on to Sony Vegas when I worked on HFFH. I continued using Vegas for many years until I completely switched over to Mac last summer, after which I've been using Apple's Final Cut Pro ever since.

I'll be doing an in-depth reaction essay to the film sometime this week, but in short I can understand why your friends feel that way. I know some people who love the film, others who hated it, and quite a number who thought it was just "okay" and weren't impressed. I personally found it a more enjoyable experience the second time around, but that's because I knew what offset me the first time, and was able to let them slide the second time around. However, I've never met a (patient) person who has read the graphic novel and not liked it. It's a true classic in all senses of the term - not a Marvel-esque superhero-fighty-action comic rag like many expect, but a deep, philosophical commentary on society and human nature in the form of a novel that just happens to have according visual imagery. I think you've made the right choice in choosing to read it first - that way you get to have the full, raw experience of encountering Watchmen for the first time, in the only form it was really ever meant to be manifested in. I better put a cap on it now before more fanboyage starts leaking out. You guys will get the full drip in a couple of days - till then, happy reading. -Kev, The Virts
