No stephenramsingh you put yourself in a taxi driver's position. He picks mother & child at point A drops them of at point B ( note people drop of anywhere on the main road it does have to b on the taxi stand) then 2 persons stops him at that same location he now has to take out the car seat, drops of the two persons then picks up another mother and baby he now has to go back at the trunk to take out the car seat and place it back , this will go on whole day because a lot of parents still travel with children
If the anothe option is to let the parents walk with the care that will make no sense at all because the mother of father will not be able to walk with car seat, baby bag, BABY and make it worst if they have to travel with 2 or 3 other children.
I dont have to travel with my child but I like to put my self in other people's shoes at times. Its always easy for us to mouth of things when we are not in the situation. The only how someone can travel with a car seat is if they hire a car and not all persons can afford that.

It may sound good to you because probably you own a car or dont have children. Parents have been travelling with their children for years because they dont own a car. I think its going to be difficult for a taxi driver to placing and taking out a car seat every minute there are people who travel wit children and their people who dont . It may b a good idea to us because we dont have to hustle every day. What we need to do as Trinidadians is to b more careful on the nation's roads think about your passengers and the other drivers on the road.

i went to the US and travelled wit the bus without car seats on many occasions, i agree that safety is t he priority and you must ensure that your child is safe at all times but their circumstances where it does not make sense when coming to a car seat let say 5 - 6 babies have to travel on a bus that means a driver has to have about 6 car seats and it will very difficult for taxi driver to be putting and pulling out car seats while working. The main thing here is when driving think about the passengers and the other driver on the road. Car seat are mainly for private use that is your person car and friends with cars that u can place your car seats in

if travelling with taxi you would not be able to use a car seat there people who still travel
