BTW. I apologize for grabbing one sentence in your post and only discussing that. The colonization of Palestine and the ethnically defined state of Israel ought to have nothing to do with this. US kids (or kids anywhere), Jewish or otherwise, should of course not be victimized and demonized and that has nothing to do with what some racist state does somewhere else.

So... may I ask a question?

You believe in "the rights of the Palestinians to have a state" AND also in " the right of the Jews to have a home state" (which I assume would the the actual state of Israel, located where the Palestinians live?). And you talk about "nation states".... not democratic states with citizens with equal rights but nation states based on national / ethnic / religious character.

My question is - sincerely, in respect: could you explain / elaborate this position? I guess, maybe I have another: does it really make sense, to say: "I believe (primarily European) Jewish people have the exclusive right to live in Palestine" and at the same time say: "I defend the right of the Palestinians to live where they were born"? My real point, I think, is this: this nation-state thing... is actually not how most of the world works ... or at least not how it should work (and thus not what 'we' should be defending - especially not when it means we get to contradict ourselves). Equal rights - civil rights - may be a thing of a long gone past, but I still kinda hope it has a chance for a come-back.

First: what you say is simply not true. The Israeli institutions of human rights can tell you that - just to name one example. As anyone who cares know, Israel does in fact have laws for 'ethnic Jews', laws for 'non-Jews', with different civil rights for the different racial and religious groups (yes, 'merely ethnic Jews' also have different rights than 'religious Jews') etc.

Finally, it is also rather peculiar how you, SunlessNick, let in the conclation of 'Muslims' and 'Arabs'. Those two things are not the same. As anyone should know... really...
