My official congratulations go out to Eric, Catherine and their two children on winning the DH 2011! May you continue to be blessed with health, happiness, and good fortune.

I am very saddened to read the negative comments on here (especially the previous blog) regarding this contest, HGTV, and the winning family. Shame on those who feel these people don't deserve it, who feel HGTV isn't fair or builds homes for real people. I continue to be amazed by the brazen nature of people who are so quick to judge. I think HGTV should patrol the blogs for these comments, remove them, and disqualify them from winning.

I'm in the same boat! My in-laws want to celebrate my son's birthday on Saturday (2 weeks early) because they leave for SC for a month. My wonderful husband who has no clue how much blood, sweat and tears I have poured into this contest said the date would be fine...UGH! I plan on leaving the crew a note when we leave. If someone we know stops by, at least it will validate my insanity. If it's not someone we know, hopefully they will think we're crazy and won't stop back! LOL Enjoy the party...you never know! :)

Hmmmm....I haven't seen Both_sides_now on here in a while. Hmmmmmm....... (If you have not been notified that you are a potential winner and something else has been keeping you away from the blogs, I hope all is well on your end.)

I think today may be my last day blogging. :( Much to do this week along with planning for my son's b'day party on Saturday, and in case they do knock, I don't want to "suddenly disappear" from the blogs and let the cat out of the bag in doing so! lol

Beneath the key rack next to the front door is a paper that contains all of my emergency medical information and contact numbers along with my next of kin should I keel over and become unresponsive upon answering my door. We got some serious snow overnight, and our school is closed. WARNING FOR HGTV CREW: If you made it to my hometown already and plan to knock on my door in between breaks of sunshine this afternoon, there is a good chance we'll all still be in our pajamas because that's what we do on snow days!! :p We'll be making some brownies and cocoa, too. What a great start to an already much anticipated week! :)

For those who have read and/or responded to my earlier post wondering what your first week would look like in the DH, I am adding one more thing to my list!! After watching The Secret Millionaire on ABC tonight, we will search for a few volunteer programs that we can participate in as a family. We look for ways to help out all the time, and this show was so moving! My eyes are swollen, red, and burning as I type this. Anyone else catch the premier tonight? Can't wait until next Sunday to see the second one!
