I'm just relating what Jewish law states. This is not my opinion. Jews are not supposed to "evangelize" non-Jews. We are permitted to educate other Jews and encourage to return to their faith. But we are told that each person on earth has his or her own mission from G-d. The mission of non-Jews does not include keeping kosher, putting on Tefillin or Yom Kippur. Unless they somehow feel they REALLY need to pursue the idea of converting, we do not go out and try to convert them. Jewish law even says we are supposed to reject them three times. This is to make sure they are sincere in their desire to convert. Jewish law has no problem with someone who might want to convert, they just have to really and sincerely want to do it on their own.

No. Absolutely not. Judaism is not some membership club that needs its numbers pumped up to look good. Anyone is welcome to join. However, it must be THEIR OWN initiative that drives and compels them to join, not the "encouragement" of evangelism.

If you don't "practice the religion", it doesn't make you less a Jew. As long as your mother is Jewish, then you are Jewish. No one can take that away. It makes you less religious. Being "religious" (meaning following the Jewish laws as intended: kosher, Shabbat, marrying someone only Jewish) means that one is claiming fidelity to the historical chain that goes back to Mount Sinai when the Jews, as one group, accepted and received the Torah. One can say, "I'm spiritual," or "I'm just a good person." What do those mean exactly? That's what Jewish law does. It tells us what being "good" or "spiritual" is. "And don't tell me the two are inseparable" -- Before you can claim that "Jewish life" and "practicing the religion" can be seperate, one must define what those two terms mean. What exactly is "Jewish life"? Without a guide, it could mean anything. Or, over time, it could change into something that was never intended. And the same question applies to "practicing the religion". What does that mean? If everyone has their own definition for either or both, then those people and their "practices" are not bound together, either communally or historically. An easy example: two people cannot play a game of chess if they each have their own set of rules about how to play.

PARENTS and those concerned with parenting techniques read the site and her blog. Wouldn't it be natural for those parents reading the site to wonder about it, since she is a proponent of the technique? Besides those parents who know her for this advocacy, do you think the average viewer of "The Big Bang Theory" knows she advocates this technique (hint: probably not). Sot it would be natural for her to mention this to readers of her blog.

Jews and Christians alike should both be bothered by this. Jews have had a long history of being pushed around and bullied. Mr. Lechter is just saying we should stop tolerating it. It is very sad that political correctness has made it permissible to attack Christians. They, too, should be prepared to do what is right and defend themselves.
