Na real eu acho essa solicitação na Adobe meio absurdo.... A idéia em si não faz sentido pq: - o maven inteiro se mantém sem Sun/Oracle.... - plugins java dentro do maven não são da Sun/Oracle... Para o desenvolvedor do projeto (no caso eu) a comunidade está passando uma mensagem do tipo "só tu que é troxa pra trabalhar nisso de graça", tanto que o projeto foi pra geladeira, se quem precisa não se mexe, eu que não preciso que não vou fazer... E a Adobe só recebe a mensagem de que vai ter mais uma coisa pra gastar, pq é um projeto que ninguém vai contribuir.... Se a moçada que gastou tempo se cadastrando, votando e depois espalhando essa ideia tivesse gasto a mesma energia no projeto a idéia em si seria desnecessária.... Na real, jamais deveria ter liberado os fontes, devia ter deixado fechado e pago, talvez assim tivesse mais gente se mexendo... Desculpa o desabafo num post tão bacana, mas quando vi o final achei interessante botar isso pra fora....

1 - Well, I just follow their suggestion.... http://www.yourkit.com/docs/demo/JavaMemoryLeak/J... IMHO, wiping memory can lead to more reliable results. 2 - We do not wanna make yjp.jar required to nexus build. So other developers won't need to install yourkit just to build our tests. If you look at pom we have a separated maven profile to code profiling stuff, making our project independent.

If you wanna be sure your plugin won't include any nexus-core dependency (including 3rd party) and that you are building your code against the right version of the dependency, add this to your plugins pom: <dependencyManagement> <dependencies> <dependency> <groupId>org.sonatype.nexus</groupId> <artifactId>nexus-webapp-dependencies</artifactId> <version>${nexus.version}</version> <type>pom</type> <scope>import</scope> </dependency> </dependencies> </dependencyManagement> This dependency is generated on webapp build, so won't be out-of-date

No, well, at least I'm not. When I started emma4it I was in fact looking for a tool to get coverage report on flexmojos integration tests. Since neither emma or cobertura did what I wish at that point I had to pic one and create my own maven-plugin. Someone suggested me Emma for some reason, but I don't recall what was the reason, anyway, I followed the advice and used Emma. After flexmojos, nexus start ITs coverage, using Emma too... after somepoint emma begin to be our standard tool for java test coverage. VELO

I never used this plugin, so unsure how it works. But, if you can provide it a path to war (not just a maven dependency), you can instrument this war (or the jars inside the war) and point to instrumented war. VELO

Hi Michael, We do that on flexmojos and on nexus integration tests. The challenge will vary depending on how your project is structured.... on flexmojos I create a fake maven repository and instrument the jars there using emma4it plugin. on nexus we instrument a nexus instance. I will probably write another blog post showing how/what I did on flexmojos... so I will include that too. Will blog about nexus ITs too, but right now I am busy on getting javascript test coverage reports.
