Iphone 4
OS 5.0.1
Firmware 04.11.08
Jailbroken
SAM Unlocked
Back in August of last year, I submitted the IMEI to ATT to get the phone unlocked, and got an email back saying it was unlocked.
So, now I want to go ahead and get the phone officially unlocked, since ATT said they unlocked it, but just in case something goes crazy and ATT didn't really unlock it, can I use my SAM to unlock it if necessary? I saved my SAM ticket.
Also, what is the procedure to do a normal unlock on this, and save my SAM unlock possibility?
Thanks all!

Iclarified (google it) has instructions on how to unlock and jailbreak many versions of Iphones, using Redsnow, etc., you just need to read the specific instructions for your specific phone, modem version and IOS Version.
The experts (not me) are here... very, very, very knowledgeable group, and can help with any issues.

Thanks for the answer... to clarify:
1. The jailbreak on the phone will remain?
2. I just leave the existing sim that has the SAM unlock on it in the Iphone?
3. What if the "IMEI Unlock" doesn't go through (it happens), can I reuse my SAM certificate to to unlock via SAM?
Thanks so much for the reply!

IOS 5.0.1
Baseband 4.11.08
Sam unlocked (ticket saved)
Redsnow Jailbreak
I recently submitted the phone to ATT for an official unlock, and received a message back that it is unlocked, just need to backup/restore following their instructions. Imei.info and mk indicate it's still locked, but I understand it may take awhile for it to get through.
So, is there any advantage to going the official unlock route? I wanted to get facetime and Imessage working, and the MMS sending a bit more consistent. I figured an official unlock will enable facetime/imessage and get MMS to work better?
Will I lose my jailbreak, if I officially unlock?
If I do lose my jailbreak, can I jailbreak it again, as I have some apps on it that require a jailbroken phone.
I'm running the phone on t-mobile network in USA.
Thanks!

To unlock, you'll have to check the IOS version of the phone as well as the baseband, and then see if an unlock is available.

I have an Iphone 4, which I unlocked using the SAM method. However, I have discovered that the push notifications are not working for certain applications.
Is there a way I can fix the push problem without losing my unlock (since the SAM method of unlocking is closed)?
Thanks!

I did find that TinyUmbrella gave me the information. I did have to have Itunes installed on the same PC as TinyUmbrella.
Unfortunately, it's on .04.08.11 baseband, and can't be unlocked.
