How is it that a private conversation over text message got him arrested 3 days later? Who "turned him in" or was this some eavesdropping/wiretapping?
I need more information but on its face this looks like wiretapping gone wrong. Now was this wiretapping done by the US or Canada?

If this was the US then please explain how that got around the 4th Amendment...?
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, PAPERS, and EFFECTS, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Someone, anyone please tell me where in the Constitution that We the People, or the States, gave our Federal Government the power to tax us for the sake of Christmas tree image improvement. If the Big Christmas Tree Complex can not pay for or do not want to pay for their own marketing then it is suddenly the responsibility of the Federal Government? This is another ridiculous expenditure of our tax money!

The $90M can be balanced on the back of the overruns the new tunnel downtown will cost. What again are we going to spend on that tunnel to replace Alaska Way Viaduct? What was the cost again if we retrofitted or replaced the existing bridge? Kinda weird.
This nanny State is so screwed. We spend borrowed money on projects we do not need, overspend on the ones we do and give money to those that do not earn it and will never try to while simultaneously taking money from those that do and waste it on programs that do not work. All of this provided by someone who is overpaid and under qualified representing a collective group that gets to write its own employment rules. And all of this while half the state (Eastern WA) gets no representation for what happens in this State because it all gets controlled not by Olympia but by Seattle. That is why we are suppose to be a Representative Republic and not a Democracy.

The police did the right thing yes. However what law did she break when she broke her own window? Just saying if I wanted to break every window in my house what business is it of the police. Once she pointed the gun at them all things change....
Glad non of the boys in blue got hurt.

You may be correct as far as the multiple tracks. I remember seeing a video years ago of a similar accident. A woman was standing next to the tracks waiting for a train to pass. Once the train passed she immediately started walking across the tracks. She was unaware that another train going in the opposite direction was heading her way as she stepped onto the second set of tracks. While it was clear she was hit me the camera angle did not show what happened to her once she left the camera shot (very short distance) while riding the front of the train. It was a very sad and preventable accident.

Japan will be rebuilding for decades.
Fallout to come to our shores? I live on the West Coast and am starting to worry. Do I need to invest in a Geiger counter and Iodine pills?

You are wrong on every point. Popular Science (or Mechanics) debunked all your "theories". I have softened steel to the point of almost melting in a camp fire, it was red hot and you can easily form it with a hammer. It used to be called a blacksmith..... the burning fuel was more than hot enough to soften steel then the weight of the floors above caused the collapse. Sorry I am way off topic with you. Go Jessie. While I do not agree with most of your politics it is about time someone stand up for our rights. I did not sign away my rights just to fly on a PRIVATE PLANE. (Airlines are not yet owned by the Gov.)

I think of her every time I drive by that spot on Mpl Vly Hwy ( a few times a week). They have now put up guard rails. Another case of police not caring. I should tell the story of what the police did and did not do when my wife's car was stolen; but this is not the time or place.
I am glad to hear that she is still kicking.

Why on earth are these critical systems even connected to "The Internet" anyways? You can not infect a machine not connected to the Internet. If you do "sneaker net" in something malicious (thumb drive or disk) it has no command and control from the external source. This lack of command and control may not pose a problem IF there is no preset "payload" and is only relying on external commands to "do something bad" you do not have a problem. I would also run a network monitor and KNOW exactly what should be on the network to pinpoint anything that should not be there. Network Access Control (NAC) from Sophos rings a bell here but I would have to look again at that solution. I wonder what/where the server is that it has been communicating with. Knowing that makes it very easy to block all traffic to/from that address.
