I have noticed a difference.

If you are using your account for the map that you are embedding in the clients site then there will be a reference to you being the last person to update the embedded map. To be honest I am going to try to get away with it on my most current project but this fact alone is enough to make Chris' post as useful as ever.

Thanks for the heads up on ready-to-embed though.
