Interesting - might have a check to see if there's an update - hopefully that will fix it and make it work again.

Up Your Ego : Licence fee and the internet

Interestingly I'm not in the same situation now to be honest. I never watch live TV - although my wife who isn't particularly technically minded does all the time. Everything I want to watch I catch on-demand but I still stand by my decade comment. The early adopters are there now but the numbers watching live-tv over on demand still show a massive difference and support for live.

I managed to work out how to embed to start at a specific timestamp you just need to put ?t=8m42s after the human readable part of the URL path.

Up Your Ego : The theatre of film

That's a shame - never great when someone you REALLY want to see and have wanted to see doesn't live up to the expectation. By the way - did you see Frank Turner has been confirmed for Jersey Live - that should be an interesting one.

God it really is a small world. How was Bob Dylan? Yeah the film was amazing - the best swearing I think I've ever heard on screen :) The Jersey bit at the end was a nice touch - just a shame it isn't going to come here. Maybe we could get the film society to show it.

Up Your Ego : Formula 1 NOT in HD on BBC

Apparently the BBC are heavily lobbying F1 and the other broadcasters for HD feeds so maybe by the 'next' season.

Up Your Ego : Inspiration into flattery?

Thanks - to a certain extent I agree with you. In fact the reason I opted for the magazine style design was because I was getting bored of the standard blog template - but I still have a blog index with posts listed in date order. But for certain navigation elements I think standardisation is a GOOD idea - sites that have random images in the middle of the page to represent links seem to have (thankfully) died off in the last couple of years as people realise usability is vital in web design. A user should in theory be able to go to a site and instantly know their way around without having to think about it too much - so having clearly defined links and using standard navigation structures is important - but I agree with you that they should all be 'looking' the same - just that they need to be in similar places or work in similar ways.

Yeah the original cast seemed to gel really well together but I still think it is going to be a great series.
