We should call the twiggy-like women 'thin', not skinny. People with lots of fat have more skin, so they are skinnier. Also an obvious problem with these pics: the bottom 4 all have their midriffs covered, so we don't even know if they have abs. Also note that we don't see a reverse of this. Where is the picture lamenting that women find men with abs sexy instead of the chubby kings and barons of the past?

To some degree, yeah. I always tell myself it's due to disinterest and that I could if I tried, but it seems like some other experience success while trying without much effort. Though perhaps we have different aims and criteria than some who find their objectives easily.

Both are possible. Apparently the more your elbows are in, the more work your lats do. Unless of course you hyperextend the elbow behind the body, then the lats turn off and it's all posterior deltoid doing that hyper extension (maybe long tricep helps too not sure). When your elbows move out, more of the upper back muscles work to pull the arm to the scapulae and the scapulae to the spine. The lats skip the scapulae and go directly to lower back.
