As a mother, I am firmly in support of parents being able to choose the school their child attends. Though I am very low on the income scale and have always been lower than average, I struggled for years to make sure my daughter attended a private Christian school where she would receive an education not "dumbed down" for her or any other student. It was a hefty price for us as very regular parents, but the most wisely spent money of my adult life. The public school system does have some strengths, but they are as fleeting as shooting stars and you must pay careful attention to catch a glimpse. He knew that to be a false report and, therefore, is guilty of libel. And isn't NPR the organization that ERRONEOUSLY reported Gabby had died? Sometimes you get a genuine chance to do the right thing. This is a very good example of someone standing no matter the price. In the end, the reward outweighs the original penalty. It appears that Ms. Leible has acted gracefully in the handling of this matter. Even without knowing the results of her actions with the supervisor, clearly she has investigated the entire issue. If she properly answered with regard to Ms. Jones, chances are greater than not that she also fully handled the entire incident.
