I think they've obviously targeted you well considering you're seeing the ads and they don't realise that you already go here. Unless there's a field in your gmail account where you can put your affiliation, I would guess it's difficult for them to exclude you from the advertising.
I didn't realise it was a movement. Just thought it was random community and church groups.
Interesting article. I guess the social discovery would be similar to posting a query on a discussion board and waiting for users to respond. I wonder if etailers will freely open up social interaction with Friend Connect if they don't have direct control over the content.
I do like the idea of integration of home, mobile and PC phones all with one number. I don't think Skype ever came out with this function.
Interesting how many of the changes are geared towards "heavy users" while these are likely the most reluctant to change. It probably would get less of an uproar if Facebook made these changes incrementally unless that's the attention that they are looking for. I can only imagine what type of user needs to add more than 5000 friends ...
Nice parody. Besides being LOL funny, I find many of the viral ads have a certain "could that be true" element to them. I must admit, that caused me to watch the Nike ad a couple of times just to convince mysef.
Interesting. Wonder if Korea just needs the "killer app" to be developed to reach a tipping point for services like Facebook. If entrepreneurs are being discouraged, this may unfortunately take longer to materialise than in other countries.
Was just having this conversation over the weekend on how churches should leverage the Internet to increase involvement. In an organisation notorious for being behind the times, it's good to see some are finding new channels to reach out.
Will be interesting to see how this mobile OS war pans out. Given that most people are on 18+ month contracts, I would expect a certain inertia to adoption of Android. However, if they can release a few killer aps (especially free ones), I would expect it to increase their market share considerably and possible win overall.
To my knowledge, Rapidshare has a function to report copyrighted material and quickly deletes any such links. I've only used it a couple of times to share larger sized documents. They can be emailed but quickly fill up people's inboxes. It would be interesting to find out why Rapidshare generates so much volume though.
