The link to the story ends with an error page, so it looks like they have taken it down. Maybe too many negative comments for the article?

Big Hollywood : 'Waiting For Superman' Timeline Shows How the Education Documentary Became a Horror Film for Teacher

There is a growing number of teachers in my school system and state who are refusing to join NEA/OEA and their local association. When I became a teacher I joined, mostly because of all the horror stories we were told in college and by our union reps about lawsuits and teachers that were fired for personality conflicts with administration. But I soon saw where my money was going and what NEA was saying and doing in my name. After two years of teaching I became the first teacher I knew to refuse to renew my membership. That was 21 years ago. Both of my parents were teachers and my dad was the building rep at his school for many years. But within a few years they both did the same and became vocal against the NEA.

Big Hollywood : Daily Call Sheet: How 'Life on Mars' Blew It, Burnett Brings the Bible, and 'Questionable Star Trek'

The Brit version of Life on Mars is so much better! I watched it when it first aired on BBC America and now have it on DVD. It it is helpful, though, to use your closed captioning or subtitle feature so you can better understand their northern accents, especially Gene's.

I think Spielbery movies have been emotionally manipulative for a long time. I have never felt so emotionally manipulated as I did as I watched "E.T." for the first time when I saw it in the theater at 18. In fact, I waited 25 years before I watched it again.

The official ABC LOST Facebook page posted the scene that shows the door number on a few weeks before Once Upon a Time premiered. That's what got me interested in watching.

Big Hollywood : Today's Open Thread: #5 'Lost'

I am 46 and I have loved many television series. But I doubt that there will be another one that enthralls me like LOST did. It is the only one that I researched mythology and literature to understand and chatted about on fan blogs. It's also something that my daughter, who is going off to college next week, and I had in common the last three seasons. LOST wasn't just a television program, it was an experience.

I totally agree with you on LOST. I watched from the first airing of the pilot until the finale and I was very happy with the finale. I didn't get all my questions answered, but that would have taken another several seasons.

Big Hollywood : 'Harry Potter 8' Review: Epic Finale

Also, the love for Harry Potter books and movies were something that I had in common with my daughter through her teenage years when it is often difficult to have anything in common. She is going off to college this fall and I am having my own "19 Years Later" flashbacks and feelings, so the ending was quite appropriate.

These were the things I was thrilled about with Part 2: 1. The Kiss, not that it happened, I knew it would, but when it took place. 2. Why Snape did what he did in The Half Blood Prince: I didn't read this book, but my teenage daughter did and purposely left that out of all the details she told me four years ago. "It was a surprise!!" her text read after I asked her why she didn't tell me, "Just like when I read the book. It made you happy to find out...(spoiler)" Alan Rickman is my favorite baddie of all time and Jason Isaacs is #2, so I have enjoyed them both in these movies. 3. Neville 4. And finally, what Harry did when given the opportunity for unlimited power: *SNAP*

Big Hollywood : Trailer Talk: 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol'

I did enjoy MI:3, probably because of J.J. Abrams. Simon Pegg (who I think is brilliant) returns in MI:4 and Josh Holloway from LOST (one of my favorite TV shows), so I will definitely see it when it comes out.

Big Hollywood : Today's Open Thread: #42 Donna Reed

I don't remember, they only lived there for six or seven months. I probably could still find it. It was a two story modern-style patio home, nice, but fairly modest for Hollywood standards. The entry and living room was two stories and it had a curved staircase, which is what my daughter loved the most about it.

Donna Reed lived in Tulsa for a while when her petroleum engineer husband was transferred here. In between houses in 1997, my parents rented the house that she had lived in. My daughter called it "The Movie Star House" and she, now 18, always comments on it to her brothers (who hadn't been born at the time) when we watch "It's a Wonderful Life".

When my daughter was born on 18 years ago, I told my husband, "It's Charlton Heston's birthday, too!" Every time one of his movies was on, I'd say, "I wonder when Charlton Heston's birthday is". She is now a proud conservative like the man she shares a birthday with.
