There was no drive to get a life and a job. The government was paying for my food medical gas and electric bills, and i was getting paid to just sit at home and do nothing. One day it hit me, and i just called up the social welfare office and told them to remove me immediately. (they didn't, i had to call in countless times and talk to countless people, whom by the way don'y have a phone line - only a voice mail.) Now a year later, I am making a salary and pay for all my bills and necessities on my own and it just feels great to be a person again. I feel so bad though, when i read that they want to extend unemployment benefits, they are simply robbing people from their humanity. And to all you folks who will say that in this economy it's hard to get a job, i agree but hey i got one right? you wanna know how i did it? I first realized that i had to get a life and then i went down to the local main street and knocked on every business door asking them if they were looking to hire. Whether they needed a one hour service like cleaning their windows or pickup a relative from the airport - I did it all. If there's a will, there's a way. Work hard, the end result is so gratifying.
