While I do think all their errors should be corrected before putting a piece live the only one i actually noticed was the missing word feel... But I believe that is because my brain just automatically corrected it when I read it.

I was listening to the commentators on the radio the other day about this subject. I kinda have mixed feelings about this. What the girl did was very wrong and yes she should be punished. I do agree with other people that the circumstances surrounding the horrible event do need to be taken into consideration, in fact they need to be looked at long and hard. The girl moved from her mother's to her father's, we have no real way to know the exact circumstances surrounding it though the baby's father is believed to be the boyfriend or friend of the mother who is 2x the age of the girl, so that there is pretty messed up then the girl moves in with a father who has problems of his own. Those type of circumstances don't always turn out the brightest or most mentally stable people.
The only real thing I have a problem with is that she is being tried initially as an adult. she is a minor and should be tried as one, and if decided it could be bumped up to being tried as an adult. Starting out as being tried as an adult I do not think is right.
I don't actually know whether to feel sorry for the girl or not. While I do not know the circumstances except for what has been reported in the news I can see where in panic after birth she doesn't know whta to do and kills the child possibly not being entirely aware of what she was doing and then was scared and threw the child away. Not that that is in any way ok.
I also want to point out something about the fact that she wasn't from Washington so it is entirely possible she did not know about the ressources or the emergency drop off ata hospital or fire department.I have lived in Washington all my life and I did not know about it until just recently.
My last thing I want to say on this issue is that even though she has done a very awful unforgivable thing I do hope that she does not get put away for life or for most of her life for that matter because I would like to think that the suffering that she should be going through if she is for the most part mentally stable is quite a punishment brought on by herself. It is something she will have to live with for the rest of her life every second of every day, but if there is any possibility that she could be a functioning productive part of society then she should be. It would be much better than us taxpayers paying for her life in prison.

I do hope she truely regrets what she did and understands the implications of what she did. While she will never be able to take it back she better have damned well learned from it.
