He felt threatened by Bobby.He may also have been mindful that Malcolm Allison had been in reality "coach" at West Ham in orevious years and wanted to assert himself with the players through Bobby.I It was Malcolm and not Greenwood who started the football academy thing when holding regular off site coaching for the senior players at a local cafe. His maxim of playing through from back to front was the foundation for all that followed. Greenwood inherited a team that was receptive to his idea's as they chimmed with those they had been discussing and using with Malcolm. There are a couple of good books on the subject, sorry I cant re-call the titles or authors as I write. One other appalling piece of Greenwood behaviour to Bobby was his reply when in 1967 Bob told him he had cancer and would be out for a while for treatment. I also dont agree that Harry's teams dont play football as in my veiw having seen the vast majority of Harry's games as West Ham manager he did, so its nonsense to say that many managers would produce better teams. Against Everton Hines missed three relatively soft chances, at Hull Da Costa let the guy run off him to score Hulls only legitimate goal-the others being a fluke free kick and gifted pen. Stanislas missed a free header six yards out to win the match at Hull you cannot miss the guilt edged chances we created in both games and expect anything, even against a dire side like Hull.
