I have tried that already, i just upgraded to latest itunes an hour ago
and i have tried restoring the firmware using the shift trick..
both with apple official firmware and custom
with no luck.
just says the device isnt eligable.
when i did the reset in the iphone i didnt expect it to delete the firmware.
just reset all apps and settings/contacts all that.
but leave the firmware alone..
how do i know if i have the updated baseband? the one that cant be fixed yet.. maybe thats the problem..

i have a similar problem..
i bought an iphone 3gs 32gb (new bootrom)
it was already jailbreaked and using 3.1.2 but it was filled with apps and all his old contacts..
so i did a restore in the iphone, i didnt realize the jailbreak would dissappear..
now i cant get into the iphone again, and trying to restore it with 3.1.2 in itunes doesnt work it just says the device isnt eligable for this firmware or something like that.
i've tried custom firmwares and everything and i have no idea how to fix this
any ideas?
