This reply is the most ignorant of all. Obviously gay men can't actually give birth to a baby, but plenty of lesbian couples do become pregnant. I can't believe you even typed that comment that babies are being born just not to gay couples.

I completely understand what you are saying about suicide and I really was avoiding commenting (not judging, here,) on the woman's mental health or status. I was commenting on the fact that she chose to end her life and that decision effected over 2000 people on that boat and the majority of them did not know her. It must be pretty traumatic to go from enjoying a trip of a lifetime to having that trip overshadowed by the fact that a woman jumped overboard, allegedly.

I just don't get what the big deal is to be outraged about. The mother should have used the opportunity to talk about what they just witnessed. It is incredibly sad that the woman chose to end her life. It is even more unfortunate that she chose to share it with all those other passengers who have now had their vacation ruined. Committing Suicide is an incredibly selfish act that often includes horrible repurcussions for many not even involved in her life.

I agree with Ken here completely. It was wrong for the public record information to be suppressed. However, the fact that the signature gatherers and the petition itself were not accurate and do not even have to be accurate. They can say anything they want to get people to sign the petition. We should be changing that portion of the law or adding a law that requires the truth be listed and discussed about the petitions. It will be interesting to see how many signatures are actually validated and accepted. We shall see.

I don't understand why the media does not challenge the comments made by the guests. Joe Jackson just blurts something out and it becomes news. I loved the fact that he wasn't aware of any drugs Michael was taking. I can't stand that he breaks out the money making idea of his to push his grandchildren into performing. I honestly don't know how some attorney's live with themselves when they take a case like this. What a slap in the face that they are arguing it's inhumane, "inmates might be partially conscious when fatal drugs flow into their veins. If that happened, the condemned person could be subjected to suffocation and excruciating pain." One guy tortured a woman, another guy killed a 12 year old girl. What is wrong with this country when they can file a lawsuit (who pays for that by the way? Taxpayers!) that is so frivalous it should have been thrown out immediately. I'm sure all of their victims would really have chosen the strong mix of drugs they are hoping for, but they didn't get it. This makes me so angry.

What a shame, only 30 days. And not even any kind of suspension of hunting privilages. This is absolutley outrageous and I really feel for the family who have lost a very great woman. It is interesting that you would say Chicago is safer than Seattle. I'm sure there are areas that may be safer, but by it's sheer size compared to Seattle, it would have a higher number incidents. I agree with you here Huskers. It seems to me like a there are a bunch of 15 year olds on here commenting that they would sign it just to have them call. They probably aren't supplying the canvasing group the correct information so their signature won't matter when they compare it to the voting rolls.
