Los Angeles: Angel City Brewery near downtown, starting at 5pm, going until WHENEVER.
There was some talk on the #socal Slack channel about maybe an OC or SD meet up, too.

"one massive unitary crow empress with a thousand heads focused on a single burning goal: #banmen" - Toast tattoo idea anyone?

I was just about to say, BEST COMMENCEMENT SPEECH EVER.

I feel like we can all move on from our beautiful, safe enclave to the messy world and keep it with us to be brave and fight for what needs to be. FIGHT FOR YOUR SPACE, Hillary said so.

I'm also now imagining her listening to Two Monks in the car while her assistant reads it, allowing her public face to relax as she laughs, Mallory's humor shoring up her faith in humanity a little bit as it has for me so many times, and I am actually sobbing right now.

I ordered 3, but one is a gift and one is a backup in case anything happens to the first one.

If I ever see someone in public with a Toastote, I will EMIT A PRIMAL SCREAM. So, no subtle winking or smiling for me- you'll know.

The exact same thing happen to me when I was a teenager, and the doctor said it was from my ear piercing getting infected and draining into my lymph nodes (fun!). It totally went away and was fine!

I am going to be in New York (sadly only for two days) for a business trip on July 12th-13th. I love, love, love the city in a total and completely touristy, American, media-consuming way and i don't care. (gritty! accents! meat-processing! big dreams! bright lights! the Fitzgeralds! old buildings! Central Park! Broad City! leaves! YELLOW TAXIS! gaaahhh).

I attended this event last year, too, and ended up reading all of the The Goldfinch over 36 hours, and walked home from dinner one night in the warm summer rain with the lights reflecting off the street puddles and it was a very FEELINGS-full trip.

I will be working all day, but i'm looking forward to spending the few hours in the evenings just exploring and experiencing. (also any NY Toasties, feel free to recommend places! I'll be in the Chelsea/Hell's Kitchen area mostly. I'll also post to the NY Slack channel)
