West Ham Till I Die : Interview With David Sullivan

Iain......please ask him if in the future we will be seeing our academy products allowed a decent run in the first team. We attract a lot of talented young lads because WHU are seen as a club that gave young players a chance to develop properly and break into the first team. Some fans are concerned that very few seem to break through properly these days and they just get the odd bit part role. We love to see a local lad come good......please introduce a policy that atleast two are given a REAL chance every season (10 starts and 10 subs apps atleast). Thanks

West Ham Till I Die : Ten Things to Emerge From the Millwall Game

only saw highlights last night....based on that i saw passion and effort, which was great to see after the previous result. Thought cole and faubert looked up for it, both playing with passion. How come our player gets red for going in two footed and yet the milwall player did not....clearly did exactly the same thing !! Both his legs were stretched out infront of him at the point of contact. This maybe mentioned above already, but dont have time to read 104 previous comments at the moment.

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Ipswich

Was busy last night and turned on pc just now expecting atleast a draw........a bit shocked !! Hope this was just a bad day at the office, cos we cannot afford many more like that or morale will plummit. Make the Boleyn a cauldron of noise (whole 90 mins) for the next match and force them to put in a real performance. How the hell did that happen ?

West Ham Till I Die : Monday's Rolling Transfer Rumour Mill

its worrying that we hold transfer negotiations with this bloke in portugal and he walks out cos he doesn't like the way the negotiations are going. Now he may have a typical fiery latino temperament. But it could also show why we have not been able to sign any of the 25 potential targets spoken about before the window opened and why recent transfer talks have not secured anyone. Are they selling the club properly to potential signings and making the player feel wanted ?

West Ham Till I Die : Transfer Forum Wednesday 25th January

with tevez deal to milan (ac and inter) both reported in the press to be dead....after our earlier talks with man city about a loan till the end of the season be possible after all ? It makes no sense him sitting on his bum till the summer and this will not help any resale value. Maybe a loan to whu, may now appeal to tevez and man city....we can dream after all. Also dos santos (spuds) transfer has fallen through to sevilla.....could we get him in on loan to offer some width, creativity and pace. This last part of the window is when the action takes place and the rumours stop and we can all hope for a couple of signings to push us onto the championship title (hopefully).

I think McGugan's contract that he signed at forest was a one year extension and so expires at the end of the season. If correct 2.5 mill should be enough to get him and forest are skint apparently. Maybe we could offload to them carew or piqi because they dont have much potency in attack. I think he could prove a real whu type player and become a fans favourite....good freekicks/shots.

Your right......in the last 48 hrs players clubs were hoping to sell...but have not offloaded....will all suddenly become available on loan. Also clubs demanding 7 mill for a player, will suddenly consider that 5 mill is not such a bad offer after all. Hopefully we will make one good permanent deal giving us some different attacking options, plus a couple of loans to strengthen weaker area's.....hopefully that should be enough to get us the promotion we need to stabilise us financially.

Why bid 6 mill for maynard ? He is out of contract at the end of the season and 2.5 mil is near the transfer fee being talked about to purchase him. We dont have much cash and cannot afford to throw it about like confette !!!

On newsnow 'hammers legend.......london 24' (todays feed). Article by phil parkes and a good read on the current squad. He compares them to the 80/81 promotion side. He also thinks we only have x4 players good enough for the top flight....green, tomkins, m.taylor and m.noble. Interesting read if you want to take a look.

Maybe Rangers have agreed to take some of our dead wood off us, as part of the jelavic deal ? Snodgrass we tried to buy before and could not agree a deal. Figures quoted at the time were 4 mill plus.....and ofton around 5 mill. If the owners can get jelavic and snodgrass, all credit to them for backing the manager. But for a similar outlay we could get maynard (2.2 app), sharp(3 approx), soredell ( 3. approx) and Mc Gugan (2.5 approx)....that was give us plenty of options. Its possible leeds may sell snodgrass, to raise funds to sign sharp themselves ?

Buying jelavic for around 7.5 sounds a big risk considering what a dissap K.Boyd proved after leaving Rangers on a free transfer. If its true that bristol city have agreed a fee of 2.2 mill with wigan for maynard, surely he was a cheaper more sensible option given our financial state. Plus if we have 10 mill to spend it will not leave much to strengthen other area's that need attention.....with maynard we would be much better placed to do that due to him being much cheaper. I hope we get McGugan, he can offer us something slightly different around the box.

West Ham Till I Die : More Clungetastic Gossip on the Transfer Front

I was impressed with k.boyd's scoring record at G.Rangers and suggested signing him around 18 months ago. His record was better then, than Jelavic's is now. He joined Middlesboro on a f/t after his contract ran out (and was overall dissap), went on loan to forest (and flopped), then was sold to a smaller turkish side for around 1.5 mill euros. Things did not work out and he is now unemployed !! Paying such a lot for Jelavic sounds a massive risk for me and i hope we buy cheaper options available. If we spend so much on him, we will have nothing left to bring in some width, that i feel me desperately need.

West Ham Till I Die : Friday 20th Transfer Update

WBA have reportedly had a £1.2 mill bid turned down by birmingham for Liam Ridgewell. They have been told to double the offer. A experienced player like him for £2.4 mill would be a bargain at that price and his experience would help tomkins continued development.

celtic......i think that even sam must realise that we need some creativity/flair/pace to unlock teams that are coming to whu, purely to defend and go home with a point. We cannot afford to keep dropping points at home and its obvious that we do better away because teams must be more adventurous infront of their own fans. The majority on here see this and hope he does aswell. If he does not do something about the problem and we fail to get promoted, he will look back on this and kick himself.......i think he wants his promotion bonus and that should see him act on the situation !!!

The truth is (taking into account our finances) that in the last couple of days before the window closes. All the top clubs will have squad players that they were hoping to sell.....but are still there. Then i fully expect us to sign about x3 players on loan (some with purchase options if we are promoted). So you are looking at R.Lukaku (chelsea),O- Chamberlain(arsenal), dos santos/kranjcar (spuds), shelvey (liverpool), t.kadar (newcastle), dorrans (wba) or boothroyd(qpr). The most likely buys (spending cash) are McGugan (forest), Sharp (doncaster), maynard (bristol city), ferdinand (southend), clynne (palace), pugh (bournemouth),Templeton (hearts) or sordell (watford). I think we will sign x1 striker and x1 winger and a goalscoring/creative midfielder, come the window closing......that should be enough, hopefully.
