As an LEO I see the harshest side of life day in, day out. While I feel the same as you do, we do have the best criminal justice system as compared to that of the rest of the world.

Oh, and if the guy goes to prison, justice will be done, criminals in prison tend to look at those who commit crimes against children as a "death crime".
