Wow, I actually got my intensedebate login details right the first time, a unique event for me! I do miss you posting, but there's other stuff to do than blog, which I understand very well. It sounds like you have a really good concept going, you've never considered franchising out in some way? Most of the English schools here in Japan seem to be more about "having fun in English" and making the parents feel like they're internationalizing their kids than actually teach them English... Must be room in the market for a school that actually focuses on teaching the kids for real?

I'm with you all the way! Amazon's the shit, been ordering stuff from there ever since I came to Japan and never have had any problems that wasn't solved quick and painlessly. I've only very rarely ordered anything off Rakuten and it just feels a bit shady, always feel nervous giving out my credit card number to them... To their credit though Rakuten Travel is fantastic for booking hotels in Japan for biz-travel but I don't have to pay them for that

Fuck! It always takes forever for me to sign in on intense debate as I keep forgetting the password, but now I'm in! Thanks for the send-off mate, we had our days in the sun and because I followed your school blog I got to read some of those posts that hinted what this Badboy blog would become! Didn't feel more than fair to read your school blog as you commented on my site and it was actually interesting even for a non-English teacher. Oh and yeah, you don't have to feel strange for thinking that I was gay as it took about one year for Mrs. sunshine to stop asking "are you sure that you're not gay?". Now she gets my humor, but it took a while, not that I mind if anyone thinks I'm gay, in fact I endorsenit! Also, thanks for the pic, I can appreciate a nice ass as much as the next guy but I'm more of a boob man (natural of course, fake doesn't do it for me). Anyway, see you around and I'll drop a comment or two in the future as well even if I'm getting notoriously bad at it... Thanks for all the good times and let's keep in touch over the Internet!

I've spent almost two years now working for an American corporation and I would not say that Americans are lazy. On the other hand, you can call Japanese people many things but lazy they are not, however they can be quite inefficient and the biggest issue I have with working with Japanese people is that most people do not seem to put much value in time. They do stuff and just keep doing it not matter how long it takes and what other priorities they should be looking at. Also that although "output" is valued, Japanese put a lot of emphasis on the "right attitude" which means basically working long hours. Europeans on the other hand value time and efficiency highly and are probably more "lazy" but get more stuff done (Ok, Europe is a big place and it differs a bit from country to country, but generalizing). Americans I find to be a bit in-between, although Output is highly valued in the US people are still impressed by the whole "he always was first in the office and last to leave" and "he hasn't taken any vacation in the last X years". Working with americans is OK, but I feel most at home working with Europeans (hey, maybe because I'm one?)...

Seriously? If I can help out in any way just send me a mail, I work with devices that treat cancer patients and have some knowledge of the stuff. The clinical results from Japan are very good so you don't have to be too worried that the level of care they give out here wouldn't be enough. However, due to regulatory hurdles it can take several years for the newest drugs to become available here in Japan and paying out of pocket for them can be expensive. Hope it's nothing!

Another Halloween coming up and another crop of children forever traumatized ;) Considering how advanced your previous years have been, do you feel like you constantly have to outdo yourself or do you try to keep the same level? Outdoing yourself seems like it would increasingly take more time and cost more money each year until you end up with something like a Halloween disneyland ;)

The whole thing is just dumb beyond belief... Ok, I think that the reaction from China is way out of line and hurt a lot of people not involved in this at all. But Japan know by now the way that China reacts to stuff like this and I can't see one tangible benefit that Japan can get out of stirring this hornet's nest... World wars have started over less infected issues...

Yeah, I was a bit annoyed with the editing of my piece in Quakebook, to be fair, it didn't remove anything controversial or change the core content of my piece but it removed basically all traces of personality and the humor that I sprinkled in there (I can just assume that the guy who edited my piece was one of those who *JUST DON'T GET IT* and then the bitchy comment from that guy was just bad. Actually, funny story, a few months ago I got a bunch of hits from the Japan Blog Directory and went over there to check the page out http://japanblogdirectory.com/2011/10/11/japan-bl... and I notice that there's one comment there from a "Dan Ryan" and I realized I remembered the name and it's the guy who edited my piece. His comment is almost six month after my post and says "Mr. Salaryman is a douchebag.". Kinda amusing since I thought they were grown men, but obviously he must be twelve years old ;)
