I completely agree with DiTesco. Since you have already established yourself and your blog, and you have a good community around your blog, this won't be a problem. Instead this will help to bring in more audience from the broadened part of the niche, as you have mentioned.

Haha..yes, maybe even I have used this kind of comments sometimes, specially when I just started with blogging...but when I am reading your list, it seems funny to me. Nowadays I make it a point to add some more information in my comments, otherwise I don't comment at all.

Yeah, I use Wordweb not only for blog posts, but for anything. It's a great resource to get the meanings of the unknown words.

Long back, I was a moderator of a PTP forum (unfortunately it has closed now). After joining the forum, I had started my first blog. And since I was the moderator, my signature was visible to many members and this gave me a good amount of traffic right from the beginning.
At the moment, I don't have much time to actively participate in forums. But it is definitely a very good way to promote our blogs and build backlinks.
