thanks for ur comment. what do you mean by 'soldered'? that my sim might be physically defect? its 7 years old but working in other/ordinary mobile phones flawlessly...

I'm not sure what you are exactly asking me, but I have: Settings>About>Model: MB500FD and Settings>About>Carrier Beeline 4.0. This is a Russian carrier and my sim is about 7 years old.

did you follow the instructions carefully and precisely? You need to switch off your iPhone BEFORE removing the sim. then place it in another phone, make a call and again switch off BEFORE you place your sim back to your (switched off!) iPhone. Only then reboot your iPhone. This should hopefully do the trick!

WORK-AROUND FOR THE "NO SERVICE" PROBLEM
Here is for all of you having the "no service" problem a solution originally provided by tw3. For me this work around is consistently working fine.

Here is the only solution / workround to the no Service problem, Switch IPHONE OFF, remove sim and place in a working phone, boot up and place a call to any number eg answer phone, switch off phone place in Iphone boot it back up and within 30 seconds full signal and service provider, warning this needs to be done everytime you switch off, I know it is no ideal but until a fix is issued this will get you working.
