Race Relations Project : The tyranny of radical Muslims...

I believe everyone is the same, just with different cultures, and it's neat how this girls husband is Muslim and she is actually able to tell us how he feels about Osama Bin Laden, because the way the whole culture is portrayed isn't how it is to everyone of the Muslim culture. Everyone is the same person, all living people, and that is how it should be.

Race Relations Project : Creating Terrorists

I understand this women is hurt by whats going on, although i would not be able to kill myself over it. Even though i am not in her position, but I don't think this is what her family would want or anyone close to her. This would only cause more pain and loss because of the way she died. It's not like she died during this, she did it to herself therefore i think it would cause more pain to her family because they may feel that she is not happy with the people who are still alive, and that are there to support her. I understand revenge but a revenge in this manner because if this were the way everyone took care of their revenge there'd be no one left here.

Race Relations Project : Christian Invaders - the turnaround

My friend also says how he prays at the end of each night and thanks God getting through another day of war. At the end of Thursday’s lecture I felt like I knew a lot more about what goes on with war and Muslims. It was one of Sam’s strongest most eye opening classes I have experienced!

Like the picture of the soldier giving candy to the Muslim children. Although at the end I realized I never looked at the war as a Christian war, I more over looked it as a war over oil, and a war with so many soldiers who are innocently getting injured or killed. I just wish they can get things taken care of and end the war. Send home the rest of the soldiers and let everyone live peacefully like they are suppose to, it has been going on for way to long now. My friend is stationed in Iraq now for the past year. I talk to him everyday and he says everyday how sad it is seeing all the little children becoming what they are “taught” to be.

I think they should have a choice or an option of what they want to do, like us American’s, we have a choice whether or not to be in the army and part of the war. I liked when Sam said to change our role from Penn State college students to their role in their country as Muslim Arab college students and think of how we’d feel about the American’s trying to take our oil. That made a good point across to most students I believe. I know Sam says about some class lecture days, that they are suppose to be one of the best classes, but this time when Sam said it I really felt like this class was actually very different from others. I believe it had a lot to do with the video he had shown in class.

Today’s class was actually very surprising and interesting. I really enjoyed the video Sam showed us , it was an eye opener I think to most people. Also like Sam said every time he watches it, he feels scared. I think that’s how most people felt that day in class. No one I don’t think really thinks like that until they saw the video. When I saw it, I didn’t know what to think at first, I felt scared and shocked. I knew we were at war and disliked by many because of the things America decides to do, such as fight for oil. The sad part about the video I would have to say is the young children who become terrorists because that is what they taught is right in order for them to live.

Race Relations Project : What's With the Theme Parties?

Express yourself, your style, and who you are by dressing by a theme but the way you think the theme should be shown. Everyone has their own opinion on everything, but this is how I feel about themed parties. A lot of my close friends throw themed parties and they aren't to make fun of anyone, just something fun. Personally, I like themed parties rather then regular parties because i like dressing up in different attire, rather then the same old going out clothes. So just go out and have a good time, don't think so much into it. Sorry its all different replies, it kept saying that the comment was to long.

There's parties like christmas parties, I don't think people are making fun of anyones religion, just another reason to dress up and have a party, basically just titles so people will come and dress up. I've also been to black light parties, when you wear white and people write in highlighters on you or on the walls, that's not making fun of any race either. Just another reason to say the party might be fun and be interesting.Basically what I am trying to say, themed parties are just another way and reason to have a party and have a good time.

Maybe if someone makes an invitation and lists all different types of things that may sound stereotypical. Such as the invitation that was shown in the groups. That did go to far because of the fact they added, black history month, then continued with how they had to talk, walk, and the way their hair should be. They must have thought it would of been a "good' excuse to throw this party. Other then that most parties are just parties to have a good time with friends and meet people you don't know. I've been to a white trash party my friends have thrown before, and they were white, they just thought it was fun to dress different and drink different beer.

I've been at parties that had been a theme such as "70's" or "80's", formal date parties, army parties, and one big party placed here is State Patty's day, wear green. Do the Irish feel like it's making fun of them , or is just another reason to party? I saw a lot of different types of people celebrating this down town. I feel that parties aren't making fun of anyone, it's another reason for people to party and have a good time but dress a certain way. Having themed parties can actually show how individuality between everyone. Like Jersey Shore parties, I'm italian and I don't feel in any way it's making fun of italians, it's all in what a person likes or dislikes.

I disagree with this video clip. Just like the comments above. I have been to a lot of themed parties and I didn't think any of them were to make fun of any one. I think they are another reason to make some college parties fun, to see the different ideas students come up with when they attend the party.
