This comment is ridiculous:

Pets and babies have lived together without incident for thousands of years. This was a freak occurrence, a one in a million, which is why it is national news. I and millions of others have survived to adulthood despite the presence of dogs and cats in our homes and (gasp) in our beds. Babies can be killed by countless things in your home, but since the alternative is to raise bubble boys and girls, most people manage to cope with some simple baby-proofing. I wish people could read an article about something bizarre without generalizing it. What about the woman struck by lightning in her kitchen? Was she a fool for not wearing rubber while making supper?

The idiots should have found their dog a home without babies in it if they didn't want him anymore, instead of handing him over for a possible death sentence.
