Plan for WTO from day one, don't even plan for better arrangements than WTO & business will have certainty & be able to plan. Supermarkets can adjust their supply lines from the continent to the rest of the world. If Chicken & Beef & GMO Crops are safe in a litigious country like the United States they are good enough for me. I look forward to being able to buy American cars instead German cars, lets have a level playing field for all car manufacturers. We have more chance of securing a free trade deal including autos with the Americans than we do with the EU. It's time to get off the EU train & move on. Airlines will cope, so what If Ryanair can't fly from A to B from the UK? they have been ripping UK travelers off for decades with their 1€ to £1 policy of pricing. get rid of long haul APD & transfer it onto Short Haul traffic that could be made by train & use the green Agenda as the excuse to hit flights that could easily be made by rail.

And there was me thinking Bozzo was a Maoist? He couldn't be less Thatcherite if you put Michael Foots donkey jacket on him!

What about the single main objective of getting Services & Utilities fully included in the single market? We gave a large chunk of our rebate away to get it over the final hurdle & we are no closer now than we were in 1973. Our biggest industry has its hands tied behind its back when it comes to the EU, how can we ever reverse our trade deficit?

I would be more concerned if we weren't listening to whats going on in Germany, neither it or the rest of the EU are particularly friendly towards the UK & its important that we know what they are cooking up before we meet a fait accompli at a European heads of state shindig

Personally I'd remind them we own Ascension Island too & remind them that the nearest base from which to attack Syria is ours too in Cyprus!

The UK is as compatible with the EU as Catholics are with Muslims in Saudi Arabia. The UK's biggest market is its own internal market cross border subsidies between Scotland, Wales, Ireland & England works well. Outside of the UK that would all stop & the separate countries would be looking to the EU to subsidise them but without the donations from the UK there would be a further black hole in their budget which would need to be made up with further cuts not expenditure. As the EU expands it wants to spread its influence thickly across the continent rather than doing what it set out to be which was a facilitator of free trade between member states. The UK is a service economy & we have been waiting 40 years for this sector to be opened up, we are denied access to the markets that we seek while at the same time we open up the floodgates to imports from the continent which is why the UK runs a colossal deficit with the EU. We are better off out where we can put up barriers until the EU drops its barriers to our trade. If devolved governments withing the UK wish to leave it requires a simple referendum to dislocate itself from Westminster.
